Description: The Doll's House is one of St Andrew's most recognisable spots to eat & drink- 2015 sees the restaurant celebrate its 20th anniversary. Specialising in hearty "good mood food", The Doll's House offers a diverse range of quality offers- from weekend brunch to value market menu dining. As well as an abundance of fresh scones and pastries, the main menu is packed full of lighter bites like big bowl salads and shellfish specials, along with a hearty mix of casseroles and roasts. We like to think there are some nice little touches too, like the "Eden Brewery Beer Battered Fish", and a new signature piece- a scrummy and slightly indulgent afternoon tea for two. Those joining us at The Dolls House for Sunday Roast every week can feel good about the splurge- we will donate 50p from the sale of each roast to Families First- a local charity based in the area. On the drinks list, you'll find a wonderful selection of gins to suit every palate, complimented by a range of carefully selected fresh garnishes and premium tonics. If you are looking for a spot of something sweeter, the Liquid Dessert range is exactly what it sounds like- a small but perfectly formed collection of cocktails that taste like their pudding namesake. Upstairs in the Eden Mill Private Dining Room, we can cater for cosy dinner parties and celebrations for groups of up to 12.

I was recommended this place by a friend at work - based on the sticky toffee pudding. All the way through the night I was looking forward to seeing the dessert menu. The starters and mains we enjoyed were lovely; full of flavour; well seasoned. Then the dessert blackboard was revealed at our table. We shared a sticky toffee pudding. It was amazing and worthy of the original recommendation. I'd prefer a more robust vanilla ice cream to accompany a rich sponge and sumptuous sauce. Service was friendly and good.

The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great - well cooked, nicely presented and really tasty. We ate at lunchtime and the £7.95 lunchtime menu prices was superb value for money - we chose a mozzarella & tomato, and chicken liver parfait starter each, followed by chicken leg and spicy lentils for main. Very nice, indeed.

Worth a repeat visit sometime, I think.

Had lunch here. Love the outdoor space, but wasn't able to sit there - was inside, which is charmingly decorated. Food was lovely and service was good. Would recommend.

It is a few years since I had a meal at the Doll's House in central St Andrews and my memory of the good quality of food and excellent staff did not let me down. We visited St Andrews for the day and managed to get a table for lunch (it is frequently very busy so try to reserve a table). It was a two-course lunch at £7.95 and proved to be terrific value. I had the somewhat unusual starter of watermelon and watermelon sorbet served as a soup - delicious! The mains we had (smoked salmon and beef bourguignon) were very good and the portion size was generous. Wine is available by the glass (a reasonable albeit predictable choice) as well as by the bottle. The opportunity on a fine day is to eat outside.

Dear Guest

The team and I are very pleased to hear of your enjoyable lunch during the summer. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It is certainly advisable to book to avoid disappointment but we always try our best to accommodate customers without one. The watermelon starter was hugely popular and a refreshing choice for hot, sunny days. Great to hear that the main courses were also greatly enjoyed and that the portion sizes and value were just right.

We hope you will visit us again soon.
