A very good local theatre with a wide variety of events of a very high quality. It hosts the annual international poetry festival (StAnza) amongst other things.
The foyer cafe and bar are really comfortable with really good coffee.
The restaurant attached is superb. Run by the same people as the Kingarroch Inn it has fantastic food at lunchtime and in the evening. If you lilke fish and chips (and the hallmark of a really good restaurant is how well they can do this dish) you won't fins better in the region!

Had a very good supper in the restaurant prior to seeing a show. The service was friendly and the atmosphere great. The theatre is modern but still intimate with fantastic bar areas.

This is the second Craft Fair I have been to at The Byre Theatre. It was full of very interesting and varied stalls with people selling their own crafts. There were jewellery stalls, card stalls, a wonderful specialized baking stall, crafts made from wood, crafts made from iron and many many more. As it was easter there was a workshop for children running over two days and during the craft fair the children had a parade with their easter bonnets on which they had made. The whole atmosphere was very happy and I bought some nice items from the stalls. Excellent for finding those special gifts. It was nice to be able to sit and have a coffee and biscuit too in the same building.

The Byre is a great venue, really beautiful, lovely bar and resturant and a nice children's play area. I'd recommend a visit to see what's on at the theatre!
