“Clean& cosy!”
Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

Had a great lunch here, a nice clean cut little bar. The menu was varied & oap portions available. The food was like home cooking & very tasty. Prices were excellent as was the service from Olivia. Will call again when we are in St. Andrews.

Highly recommend!

“Lights far too bright, not very clean, won't go back”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

Lights and very bright, atmosphere lacking. Also quite cold.
Quite a student pub. Even though I'm a postgrad student, I felt old in the crowd of 18-year-olds.
Been there twice. Once was in the early evening just to quickly sign up for an event unrelated to the pub. Stayed for a pint. No music was playing. The guy behind the bar looked very scruffy and ignored guests while he chatted with a girl. Went there again in the evening with some friends - I thought that perhaps it would be better this time. It wasn't, and I'm not tempted to go back.
Haven't tried their food, but it didn't seem to be the cleanest place, so I will refrain.
Only positive note is that their beers are well priced.
Nothing very adventurous on tap & I found no support of local breweries, despite their signs telling me they were in support of CAMRA (the campaign for real ale) - just standard Deuchars, etc. They also refused me a CAMRA discount with my CAMRA card, saying they didn't know what it was, even though they had CAMRA signs everywhere.
I also didn't appreciate their jab at another pub down the street (the Whey Pat), by saying that their nachos were 'whey better'. It's not a good sign if you have to put down your neighbours to encourage business.
Not impressed, and would rather enjoy a night out at any of: St Andrews Brewing Co, the Whey Pat, the Criterion or Central (all within 2 blocks of one another).

“Great Pub Grub”

What you would want to expect from a local boozer.... Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Very reasonably priced for St Andrews.

“Best End to a let down weekend”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

On the way back home to Pontypool from Aberdeen. Stopped at St Andrews for dinner with my Wife to show her there are great Places to go in Scotland, After the BIG LET DOWN OF ABERDEEN. Droothy Neebors Bar on North Street, was just the way I rember it and the Fresh Food the best , this time it was the Fresh Haddock with a light thin batter.
She loved it just as much as me, then told me Bring me Back to here any time , my Love.
