After 2 days on the Old and New Courses our final day saw us take on the challenge of the Castle course and this time the wind was blowing at approx. 25-30mph. What a test - this must be the hardest round of golf i have ever played. The Castle course holds some extra benefits from being about a mile north of the town, the super friendly staff who could not do enough for you, a free pallet of range balls and the fantastic views. The course itself was the greatest test of golf with its convex greens, undulating fairways and its exposure to the elements. The views were to die for over the North Sea, the signature hole being the 17th, a par 3 over the North Sea - Tee to Green 179 yds with a cross wind taking your ball out to sea. A fantastic course and is a must for all serious links golfers, especially if the wind is out to play, highly recommended and highly challenging - would I go back? You bet :)
