This is a very dificult course, more so than the Old Course in my opinion. Still very fun to play, but if you have to make a choice, play Jubilee instead. I found it more fun, and engaging.

Thank Gary H

Great course layout and greens in better condition than the Old course (and they were good!). Very friendly staff in the clubhouse - they couldn't have been more helpful.
Superb breakfast for about £10

Played with two friends. We play off 19, 20, 21. We joined an Aussie who played off 6. It was a calm, mostly sunny afternoon so the course was benign. I had a bad day on the greens but everyone else was par or better (Stableford). It was a lovely experience being on such a historic course but not quite the challenge we had expected.

Having been lucky enough to snag an Advanced Tee Time for the Old Course we chose the New Course for our mandatory second round. Having only time for two rounds while in St. Andrew's, our group debated long and hard over forfeiting our pre-paid fee at the New Course to go play Kingsbarns. We ultimately decided to stick to our original plans and played the New Course on a lovely August morning.

One guy in our group hired a caddie and the rest of us just rented trolleys. The course lived up to its billing - much harder than the Old course and a fair challenge for all golfers. Although its bunkers are not as numerous or dramatic as the Old, the bunkers, grouse and rough presented severe obstacles that contibuted to our enjoyment of this course. The course was in good shape, and for the price was an excellent value compared to many other courses in the area.

There is nothing quite like playing the Old if you have never played it, but oncey ou mark the Old off your bucket list you need to consider playing the New as it is quite a good golf experience.

This is the second best course next to the Old Course, stay out of the traps and you can have a great score. The course is in excellent shape.
