Owner description: The famous Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course at the Home of Golf. The bridge was originally built over 700 years ago so shepherds could move their flock across the Swilcan Burn which meanders through what is now the 1st and 18th fairways. Today the Swilcan Bridge, with the 'Auld Grey Toun' providing the most beautiful of backdrops, is one of the most iconic settings in golf. So much more than a little stone crossing, the Swilcan Bridge is the history of the game, it's the magic moments, it's felt the footsteps of the true greats.

“Just like we imagined it to be”

We were able to have our photograph taken on the Swilcan Burn Bridge. To imagine all of the great golfer's who passed that way, we were in awe.

“Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Walking The Old Course when it's open on a Sunday is simply magical and crossing the iconic Swilken Bridge thinking of all the others who have done so is really special.

“Swilken Burn Bridge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

Before you go to that great golf course in the sky, this is a must play. Probably the most nervous I have ever been on a first tee box. Then, coming up 18 and being able to get pictures taken with me and my best buds on the bridge, it just does not get any better!

“Hard to "review" an iconic place like the bridge!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

...but figured it would be worth another rating on their part. Amazing to see it in person and we got to take a few photos. Lots of excitement over here and if you're not staying at the Old Course Hotel (which we were) it's a fun trip over to take a look at this famed 18th hole.
