Owner description: The famous Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course at the Home of Golf. The bridge was originally built over 700 years ago so shepherds could move their flock across the Swilcan Burn which meanders through what is now the 1st and 18th fairways. Today the Swilcan Bridge, with the 'Auld Grey Toun' providing the most beautiful of backdrops, is one of the most iconic settings in golf. So much more than a little stone crossing, the Swilcan Bridge is the history of the game, it's the magic moments, it's felt the footsteps of the true greats.

“Swilken Burn Bridge”

Before you go to that great golf course in the sky, this is a must play. Probably the most nervous I have ever been on a first tee box. Then, coming up 18 and being able to get pictures taken with me and my best buds on the bridge, it just does not get any better!

“Hard to "review" an iconic place like the bridge!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

...but figured it would be worth another rating on their part. Amazing to see it in person and we got to take a few photos. Lots of excitement over here and if you're not staying at the Old Course Hotel (which we were) it's a fun trip over to take a look at this famed 18th hole.

“Wish it was a Sunday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Took some Americans to visit the Old Course and wish that it had been on a Sunday when we could have walked over the famous course and stopped to take photos on the Swilken Bridge.
I am sure that it is every golfers ambition to have their photo taken at this famous spot, but its simply not possible during the week when golf is in full play!

“Iconic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

Who amongst you who are die hard golf fans would not like your photo taken on this bridge? Its amazing that you can walk all over The Old Course on a Sunday when golf is not allowed and imagine yourself following in the footsteps of those golfing heroes like Palmer, Nicklaus and Player. I don't even play golf and I love it!
