“Lovely place to visit”

The Botanic Gardens are a lovely place to visit, which many people in St Andrews forget about. It's a lovely haven which is very informative and there is so much to learn and to see.

“Under-rated asset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

A wee gem in the heart of the town, providing a lovely environment to wander and sit in the sun on the lawns and amongst the collections of trees, shrubs and plants. A haven of peace, and a good place to study quietly too when the weather is warm. Deserves far more notice than it gets. Discover its delights before it is redeveloped into housing!

“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

It probably isn't on the top 10 botanic gardens in the world but it's well worth a visit if you are in St Andrews. The glass houses are full of unusual plants and a good place to spend some time on a cold east coast day.

The gardens are just walking distance from the centre of town.

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

It's off the beaten track, and not well signposted, but it's definitely worth a visit. My wife and I are members of the Friends of the Botanic Gardens and regularly visit. On a sunny day, you will not find more tranquil surroundings with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Visit the greenhouses for even more exotic examples of plants. There are also seasonal plants for sale at the entrance. Definitely worth supporting.

“Interesting”

Enjoyed a leisurely educational walk around the gardens and Glass Houses. No one at the pay desk but we used the Honesty Box.
