Owner description: The remains of what was Scotland’s largest and most magnificent church still show how impressive St Andrews Cathedral must have been in its prime. Its museum houses a collection of early and later medieval sculpture as well as other relics found on the site. Spectacular views from St Rule's Tower.

This cathedral complex is incredible and the history can be felt simply by wandering the cemetery, ruins and exhibits.

“Great historic place”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

St Andrews cathedral looks extra magnificent when the sun shines on it. It is definitely a great place to take a bunch of photos. It is worth to get a joint ticket with the castle.

“Not just golf!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

St Andrews Cathedral is a beautifully preserved buiding. with a couple of small Museums inside the visitor centre and the seperate St Rules tower (which you need a token to climb up) The views are fantastic on a clear day. it costs £7.20 for a joint Cathedral/castle ticket which is well worth it, there is a explorer ticket and member ticket which grants free entry. The grounds are free to walk around (which is a large cemetery)
The day I visited the staff member (Paul) was excellent and provided good information to me in the museum part. give yourself a good 90 minutes to 2 hours to see the grounds and Museums.

“Educational and inspiring”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We were sort of on a "Mary, Queen of Scots" expedition. This location and the St Andrews museum at the castle (on St Andrews campus) really were educational and impressive.

“Great Photo Opportunity”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

On a nice day here you will get some great photos, free to walk around, if you want to go up St rules tower you will have a small fee to pay but well worth the view of the whole of St Andrews from the top, also Tom Morris the famous Golfer is also buried here in the grounds.
