Following my arrival at the apartment i was immediately impressed by the design and layout of this apartment. The apartment is compact yet i feel that this adds to its character! The apartment has 2 bedrooms which were ideally sized with plenty room and places for storage. I have stayed in many apartments in St. andrews and it's safe to say this must be one of, if not the best location for a holiday house in the town. All the shops, cafe's and restaurants were within metres from the apartment - brilliant for the morning coffee run! The entertainment system in the home is wonderful whilst it's wifi is of the best quality - let's just say my teenage children were delighted! The standout factor of the apartment must be the unique courtyard equipped with a fire and large table which we used for eating on. A very special whisky collection was also on offer which was enjoyed greatly in the outdoor area.
This was an excellent stay and strongly recommend it.
I arrived in a busy St Andrews and parked up in one of the may parking spaces surrounding the property. The location couldn't be better. At one end of the quiet, narrow, cobbled street is the stunning University of St Andrews. 1 minute in the other direction takes you directly into the lively, cosmopolitan town centre.
On opening the door to the property I was presented with a beautifully bright, clean and luxurious living space.
The hallway has an area for storing golf clubs leads you into the main living area. The combined lounge/kitchen area was perfect. Nice and light, thanks to the patio doors, huge mirrors, beautiful fixtures and fittings and mostly white decor. There is a ultra fast internet access, large TV for those who enjoy nights on the sofa, streaming music service and a Wii. I think there is a sofa bed but I never pulled this out or used it. The sofa is of a good quality so expect the bed to be decent enough?
The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, dishwasher and microwave oven. But to be honest being right in the middle of the town I doubt these will ever get used?
There is a sheltered courtyard just through the patio doors. A great area to share stories of putts holed, chips duffed and monster drives. The rustic table easily sits 6 and there is large BBQ and outside fire to keep the Scottish evening chill at bay.
The bedrooms are really nice and comfortable, can be doubles or twins. I slept at the front of the house and had a great sleep. Really nice bed linen and cozy duvets. Storage is available for clothes. I tended to live out of my suitcase, which says more about me than the quality of facilities in the house.
One bedroom has an en-suite which I never used but looked beautiful. I used the main bathroom just off the hallway. Usual amenities in a bathroom that was lovely, fresh and functional. The over bath shower provided a really great hot shower that was topped off by the biggest, most luxurious bath towels.
St Andrews is a great town with a really nice buzz. The accommodation is perfectly situated for everything. 5 minutes walk from the Old Course, beaches, aquarium, cathedral ruin and just close enough to stagger out for food or post golf libations.
I cannot recommend this place enough. I had a really great short stay and will return.
