“Great accommodation & facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2009

Stayed 3 night weekend break with partner and 6 month old baby - ideal! Loved our cottage - The Doocot - it had everything you could need for a really comfortable stay. The facilities are excellent for families- swimming pool, putting green, play park, walks, dvd library, etc.....Had our morning paper and rolls delivered each morning - a nice touch. Loved the location within the East Neuk, so many lovely villages to visit in area. This was our first stay and will definitely be back next year.

We stayed in one of the smallest cottages with our toddler son - the accommadation is to a very high standard and well equiped. The leisure facilitites are great for all ages with the pool, swing park (espeically the huge trampoline!) and hens being favourites of our son's. Unfortunatley we were a bit unlucky with the weather so didn't get to take full advantage of all facilities such as putting and tennis. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

This visit was part of my mother's 70th birthday celebrations and we managed to get 14 adults and children (ages ranging from 70 years - 18 months) in 4 of the cottages. All very comfortable and all with unique views and staff were fantastic, as always, in helping arrange everything. The kids had a great time in the pool, games room, outdoor play areas and roaming the scenic beauty of a working farm as well - great for suburbanites. My parents were very pleasantly surprised and intend on returning. Every consideration thought of down to fresh eggs available each morning along with deliveries of milk and newspapers and full consideration given to recycling so impecable green credentials as well. Easy travelling to St. Andrews and down the coast to Crail. It seems a shame to highly recommend this as it means less availability for repeat visitors but others should be aware of such a great place.

This is our second visit to Morton of Pitmilly, this time with 3 generations including 6 kids aged 1 - 13. All of the children loved the swimming pool, swing park, games room, tennis & putting green. Our 4 cottages were all of a very high standard, spotlessly clean & well kitted-out with flat screen TVs in every room. Highly recommended for quality self-catering accomodation in quiet rural surroundings but only 10 mins from St Andrews & Craill.

We have been coming to Morton of Pitmilly for the last 15 years - now if that's not a recommendation for anyone I'm not sure what is. The place is a real hidden gem - it provides a peaceful place to relax from the maddening crowd and is a 'home from home.'

It prides itself on spotlessly clean properties and a 'nothing is too much trouble attitude'. It's perfect for all the family and it within easy driving distance to the wonderful Kingsbarns beach, Crail and St Andrews town centre. The beauty of these properties is that you are not staying somewhere similar to a 'timeshare development' where everything is just too fussy - you really feel like you can just relax and come and go as you please.

This family run business deserves to do well - they are ambassadors for how Scottish tourism should be! They are innovative (Sustainability is high on their agenda, they grow their own produce on-site) and although they continue to upgrade their properties to make sure they stay ahead of the game in terms of quality - they somehow keep their intimate charm which is lacking in so many 'souless' hotels, B&Bs and self-catering businesses.

It's always a sad day when you have to leave Pitmilly!

We stayed in The Stables for a family get-together long weekend (2 grandparents, 3 parents and 3 children aged 5, 7 and 8) and really enjoyed our stay at Morton of Pitmilly. The cottage had plenty of space for 8 of us and was furnished to a very high-spec (the bathrobes were an extra-nice touch). The highest recommendation I can give is that all 3 of our children (& some of the adults) were asleep within 5 minutes of going to bed because they tired themselves out using the great leisure facilities - swimming pool (with woggles & floats for the little ones), tennis, trampoline, putting green, football area, zip wire, sand pit, outdoor play area, fitness room and indoor games room. This is a great base for a stay in Fife (St Andrews is only a 10 minute drive away) and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

We visited Morton of Pitmilly for our family holiday and will definitely return again. Plenty for both our 5 & 9 year old boys and ourselves to do (putting, tennis, football area, table tennis, pool table, swimming pool, playpark) and great for relaxing too. We were able to sample some of their homegrown produce and also bought some home-made jam. The location was also good for visiting St Andrews, Kingsbarns beach and the famous Anstruther Fish Bar! A perfect holiday.
