“going down hill!!”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

You imagine going for an Italian meal on a Saturday afternoon the place would welcome children. They are on the whole accepted in the premises, but there is no childrens menu to choose from.We ordered three lasagne and another pasta dish(this dish was fine) I thought we were in a goldilocks story, there was a large lasagne, a medium lasagne, and a small lasagne.!!The small lasagne seemed to be the missing portion sliced from the medium lasagne. This would not have been a problem either, except they charged full price for the large, medium AND small portion.DONT be caught out if you take your kids here and they cant manage an adult portion, ask for an empty plate and share yours. If the chef does it for you, he will charge full price.

“Superb”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Went with a couple of friends last Saturday and wasn't disappointed, spagetti carbonara was what it should be (take not Bella Italia, Dunfermline - ie. not a microwave meal) then Fillet Steak with Pepper Sauce did the trick. Nice bottle of Chianti (thanks to Dr Lector) to was it down. The waiters were friendly and the service in general was very good as it usually is. Everyone had different dishes and there were no complaints.

“Average and poor manager”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

This place has a feel good factor for nights out - normally a hive of noise and activity. The waiters help create and fan the mood. However if we are talking about the food then look at the scores. 41 with excellent or very good but 42 from average too terrible. Sadly that is a reflection and a true one. Salads are packaged from Tesco over the road and the garlic bread is certainly from frozen. The food is not great but the atmosphere disguises that. The Manager falls short by any standard as the reviews tend to say - but he is married to the owner's daughter and this is what seems to keep him post not ability. There are two far superior italian eating houses in the town but if you want atmosphere - bustle and noise then this is for you. For serious eating - avoid it.
