As part of a large group taking our matriarch out for mother's day, it would have been embarrassing for her if we had challenged the management about the standard of their food, so to save her blushes, we didn't. It would have spoiled her day more than the poor food did.
£14.95 for 2 courses or £18 for 3. I had soup, which was fine - nothing special - but it was hot.
The main course was nothing short of disgraceful. I ordered roast beef sunday dinner. The vegetables were very soggy, the yorkshire puddings were burnt on the top and uncooked on the base (how do you do that?), the beef was tough, the gravy was like water and had about as much flavour. When one of our group asked for English mustard, he was presented with a squeeze bottle of mild english mustard which tasted odd.
The whole thing just lacked effort. There was no attention to detail. It just smacked of laziness on the part of the team.
Save your hard-earned cash and go somewhere that cares about the food they serve, not here.
If I could have scored this restaurant 0 instead of 1, I would have. Very poor.
