lovely hotel, wonderful room, friendly staff, great food - couldn't ask for more (unless you could pick it up and move it to a rural location)

Returned to the Garvock Hotel to bring in the New Year and throroughly enjoyed our two night stay. We had previously stayed there in July 2008 and our second stay was equally good. Lovely spacious double room with flat screen TV and DVD player, hairdryer, tea/Coffee making facilities. Scrupulously clean room and en suite bathroom. Waiting and bar staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive (nearly all are Portugese as is one of the co-owners) and the Scottish receptionists could not be more helpful. Food is good and the ambience of the hotel is excellent. It is really a country house hotel in the town.

An excellent location from which to explore Fife and over the Forth road bridge to Edinburgh (viewing the iconic Forth railway bridge en route).

Highly recommended family run hotel with all the facilities needed to give a relaxing stay.

Stayed here for 5 nights and used as an excellent base to discover Edinburgh and Fife. Location is good but you really need to know how to get to the hotel before setting off!
The whole hotel is clean, bright, fresh and warm. Our room (12) was close to the entrance used by the staff coming in and out so suffered door noise problems.
Quality and choice of food cannot be faulted and service was excellent. A totally perfect 5 night stay and will use many times again when in the area.

I and my husband stayed here for 2 nights on 29th and 30th August for our friends wedding.
We were really impressed with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and they always said hello. We stayed in room 3 which was lovely, spacious and clean. The only one little thing I would comment on was the bathroom had a little bit of damp under the wallpaper but this was nothing major as it was clean.
The grounds were beautiful and it was within walking distance of the good choice of town centre shops.
The breakfast at the hotel is fantastic and you can choose anything from smoked mackerel to a full breakfast grill.
I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to friends and family.

One of the most enjoyable hotel stays I have ever had: comfortable room, pleasng surroundings, very attentive staff, excellent food and a reasonable price. Genuinely, I couldn't fault this establishment and my family and I will definitely return.

Stayed here in July 2008 for one night. We were visiting my girlfriend’s family as part of a week long tour of Scotland. My girlfriend chose the hotel based on TA reviews and the fact that they took dogs too. The stay was more about breaking up our journey and seeing family rather than eating at the hotel and seeing the sights. The room was on the ground floor which we were told about on booking as we had our dog. The room was large with a LCD TV and DVD player with a DVD library available at reception. The bathroom was also large and well equipped. We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening but on speaking with my girlfriend’s family it is meant to be both popular with local and very good food. The hotel is set in some lovely grounds with ample parking. The breakfast was very nice with a very good selection of cereals, cheeses etc on top of the full Scottish breakfast we had. I’d defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dunfermline, staying one night we never got to chat to any of the staff but the front desk staff were very friendly and obviously enjoyed their jobs which is always good to see!
