Went here Xmas eve for a special meal as working Xmas day. Ordered Salmon and on cutting it open it was raw, sent it back and the replacement was also raw!!! By the time the first replacement arrived my husband had finished his meal, so on finding the replacement was also raw I came away with no dinner.

Though having been a customer for many years, this was only my second visit since the change of management. We'd reserved a table and were warmly greeted on arrival by the host. It was a busy time but our order was taken without too much of a delay. We were warned that the food, prepared to order, would take a little while and so it proved, though the time taken was perfectly acceptable. The food was very tasty and well prepared and presented and we all enjoyed our different dishes. Two of us finished with Apple Crumble and they were huge covering most of the plates.
The Hideaway has a "day" menu till 7 pm and then changes to an "a la carte" thereafter. We didn't look at the latter but the day menu had sufficient choice for most people.
The staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly and this, allied to the good food will ensure we will return very soon.

If, when eating out, you are looking for a good restaurant which is reasonably priced and serves fresh, locally sourced food then this is the place for you. My husband and I have had lunch here twice in the last week or two and on both occasions we were very pleased with our meals. The food was excellent , particularly the roast beef last Sunday. The meat was both tender and full of flavour. Coffee was of a very good standard too. The staff were very friendly and obliging. Small portions are available, which is great if, as an older person, you do not have a large appetite any more.

We recently had a family meal at The Hideaway to celebrate our daughters graduation. On arrival we were greeted warmly. My husband and I arrived before the rest of our party of eight and enjoyed a pre meal drink on comfy sofas by a blazing log stove! The service was very efficient and we chose from the day menu although we could have had the a la carte menu. The food was fantastic and everyone thouroughly enjoyed it. The cullen skink with home made oatcakes was very tasty as was the main courses. The puddings were to die for....... this was one of the best meals we had had in a long time. Friendly staff, excellent food and lovely ambience....it has it all. Can't wait for our next visit.
