We have been going here for about four years now with our work for Christmas lunch and it has always been extremely good. So good that we book up again year after year. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. Getting a bit expensive though.

Food and presentation excellent as always; however slightly disappointed by the attitude of the waiter who came to take our order and went away mumbling because we had not decided what we were having. Note to waiter!! give us the menus earlier instead of 20 minutes after we arrive!!!
Had duck for my main course which was cooked perfectly and despite being tender could not get my knife to cut through it!! Note to hotel; buy new cutlery or sharpen what you have. Prices have increased since our last visit and whilst I would say that it is still value for money would hate to see them price themselves out of the market shoul they increase rpices too much. 3 course dinner; bottle of wine and three drinks from the bar £99.

Not the cheapest restaurant in the Dunfermline area but the grounds, hotel and restaurant are in a quite part of the town. The menu is varied with a scottish flavour and the food well presented and well prepared

I have eaten many times in the Garvock with family and it was lovely. However the last time I visited with my fiance was an experience that has put me off for life. The staff were incredibly unwelcoming, the atmosphere unwelcoming and the food did little to redeem the situation. As the youngest couple in the dining area by a large margin, we were made to feel out of place by the staff who placed priority on other tables, which meant we waited around 20 minutes before getting a drink. Our order was mixed up with another table, we were significantly overcharged, were argued with for querying the bill and received no apology once it was established they had overcharged us. It generally felt as though we were an inconvenience to the staff and the management on that evening. If you are under 35, unless you are attending a wedding, I strongly advise you eat elsewhere. Even McDonalds would be an improvement on the service we received. At least they serve you quickly and give you what you ask for.

If you are looking for the best food available then this is where to head. I have never been disappointed by a visit to this House. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the grounds are first class, the staff are warm and welcoming and first class at their job. It is the food, though, that is well worth the wait and you can enjoy a long evening of good conversation and good food.
