My wife and I often pop in here for lunch on the weekends as we like the simple menu and the friendly service given by the owner.
You are always greeted with a smile and the food is fresh and tasty and never feeled rushed to leave. And it's great value too.
There is ample parking and if the weathers nice, it's a nice place to go for a stroll to walk off your lunch.

Popped in here fro lunch afer having it recommended by a relative who was impressed with their evening meal.Lovely place. Nice decor. Good ambience. Plenty of choice on the menu. Prices very reasonable. Good, tasty home cooked food. The owner is very friendly and quite a character - he even suggested that having soup and a panini might be too much for my aunt as she had said she doesn't eat big meals. His wife does the cooking - he said it was her cooking that made him decide to marry her! He was very attentive without being obtrusive.
They do all day coffe and cake from 11am. Lunches from 12-2 and evening meals from 5-9pm. The restaurant has probably about 10 or so tables on the ground floor and I guess there is a function suite elsewhere - maybe upstairs - as they are advertising Christmas party bookings for 12+ - with a delicious looking 3 course menu for £18.50. Their Christmas Day menu also looks excellent. Noticed there were a couple of high chairs for kids so they are catered for too.
It is in a lovely situation on the front - we were at the window table with a nice view of the Forth. There are also some tables outside - we went for a little stroll across the road to the marina where there are a few benches - you can see both Forth Bridges from there. Ample parking across the road also.
I'll be back!!

Went along to try something new, and the service was really personal with some nice chat with the owner. Probably the difference between chain/franchise and a private restaurant.

Food was really nice, house red was lovely, atmosphere was great and price was not too bad either! :)

All in all very good - we'll be going back with others next time!

Phoned up and booked a room for one night at an agreed price, my plans then changed so I booked the room for a further 3 nights at the same price. The next morning the owner stated that the room was charged at the wrong rate and that he would honour the price for the night I had stayed but would require a further 40% increase on the remaining days, was nearly going to pay but his take it or leave it attitude and the fact that they did not have the decency to knock or leave a note annoyed me greatly. I was then late for a meeting as I had to pack my room. Very annoying.
