“Brilliant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2012

Really nice place and really nice atmosphere, great service but what stood out for us more than anything was the quality of the food. We both had three courses and every one was very very good, for me the steak pie was one of the best I've ever eaten, and in this day and age when everyone is tryin to save money the prices were extremely fair, so all round a brilliant experience with brilliant food at a brilliant price, try it now :-)

Just visited the hideaway, after hearing a good review from a friend. We were really impressed! Everything is home made and to a high standard. I would recommend the steak pie, soup is also very good! This is a relaxing place with Very friendly service, really hope this place does well as there's not a lot of good places to eat in Dunfermline, Don't be disheartened by the first review not sure where those people are used to eating if they think it is over priced!! will defiantly be back! X

We visited the newly-refurbished Hideaway in Dunfermline today and I have to say that everything about this restaurant is fantastic. We were immediately greeted by the owners who introduced themselves and gave us a warm welcome, the staff were friendly and polite and the food was absolutely superb (I'd highly recommend trying their homemade burgers if you're popping in for lunch!).

It's great to have a new family-run restaurant in Dunfermline as lately we seem to have been overrun by chains. If you're looking for a warm, friendly restaurant with fantastic home cooking, give the Hideaway a try!

As the restaurant only re-opened recently I had a bit of a problem tracking down the phone number, so to save you any hassle here it is - 01383 249533.

We had lunch today. What a difference, immaculate decor, outstanding food and a warm welcome. Excellent staff, impressed with owner. No TV's blaring out, no one arm bandits. The place to go. Well worth a visit. We will be back.

The Hideaway used to be the jewel in the crown around this area - when Armando first opened it it was THE place to go for a romantic meal, famiy celebration, office 'do' etc. In recent years it was run into the ground after a couple of changes of ownership but I am delighted to say it is back with a BANG - the new owners have turned it around and made it once more a flagship place to eat out in Fife. I am so very relieved to be able to say it is now a lovely, welcoming, place to eat out with really nice, friendly staff, great food and will doubtless become the favourite place to eat out locally once more ;0)

Room Tip: there is only one wee block of rooms at corner of car park - I am sure they will be every bit as nic...

Just been to the hideaway for the first time since it re-opened and my family and myself loved it. Food was gr8 and freshly prepared, staff are very welcoming and I would highly recommend going along to give it a try. My son said it was the best macaroni ever and that's saying something hee hee. We are booked in for mothers day and can't wait.

Food really poor and expensive for meagre portions of low quality produce. A few years ago the hideaway was one of the best places to eat but not now. Such a shame. Couldn't comment on the rooms as did not stay.
