Im probably a bit biased cos I live in Fife but I use the Coastal path every week and it has something for everyone. Having lived elsewhere in Scotland we are really lucky in Fife to have such a well maintained and accessible coastline. There are flat easy sections on tarmac'd path along the sections between Dalgety Bay and Aberdour and more rugged challenging sections in the East Neuk by Crail . The corner at Fife Ness is spectacular in a gale - ypu feel as if you are in the middle of the North Sea. On sunny days the beach at Silver Sands with loos, parking and its café is great for kids and the beach at Ruby Bay and eastwards has great rock pools and Ive sat and watched dolphins and porpoises cruising by.
Burntisland, Methil and Kirkcaldy have interesting harbours and the Dysart Harbour Masters House has a café and basement info centre for rainy days. There are caves, cliffttops, castles - something for everyone.
