The simplicity and efficiency at check in coupled with a friendly face to answer the questions asked by those not familiar to the area. Easy to locate, quiet, clean and convenient combined to make this the perfect stop over on our walking holiday in the Falkirk and Stirling area.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room furthest from the nearby main road and it was silent, though road (or any other...

Myself and partner stayed at this hotel on the way to visit family. We haved stayed in a number of premier inns in and around central Scotland and have always been very happy with the quality and service received. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and generally clean.
The problems started at approx 11 30pm when the fire alarm went off. On making our way outside we found a group of other guests huddled in reception. The night porter and another chap were relaying instructions to each other whist examining what appeared to be the control panel of the fire alarm system. After approximately 5 minutes the night porter announced to those of us waiting that this was a regular occurrence and happened about once a week. Myself and my partner found this comment to be concerning as did the other guests. Our wait in the reception area continued for about another 5 minutes without any update, apology or information. Eventually the fire alarm was silenced, but there was still no communication from the staff members present. The night porter continued to ignore those of us waiting for guidance and then proceeded to serve a customer who had a query with the Internet. After he had finished with this customer he announced to us that we should just go back to our rooms as there was no point us waiting in reception. At this point a fellow guest questioned the safety aspect of having no working fire detection system. This prompted the night porter to launch into a full scale argument with the guest in question. Both myself and my partner were horrified by the attitude and demeanour of the night porter and left not wishing to get caught up in the fight. Despite our reservations about returning to our room, we were left with no alternative due to the time of night.
On checking out the following morning, the receptionist asked us how our stay had been. When we briefly explained the problems, she agreed to refund the nights stay under their good night guarantee without argument. Whilst we wouldn't stay at this particular premier inn again, our experience wouldn't put me off staying in another one of their hotels as the standard of service is generally very good.

Six of us stayed her for one night. Clean very comfortable rooms, no noise , easy parking. Extremely friendly check in staff. However breakfast was a big let down, paid for 6 Premier Breakfasts and the quality and quantity were not what we expected from a Premier Inn.
