If you are in the Falkirk vicinity, this is a great place to meet up with friends for a coffee (and ice cream) or a light lunch (with ice cream!). It's a busy cafe but well staffed so you never have to wait long. And there's a cow to milk to keep you entertained if you do have to wait! Great selection of ice creams too (I had honey and cinnamon).

Went for lunch and icecream today came away having had nothing. We waited in queue for table only to be told if we wanted icecream we would have to queue again in the long 'icecream only' queue-which was quite long. I have been there several times and am aware that their strategies for working at busy times have changed-more than once! Today was a total disaster-they just don't cope with busy periods which is a shame because the ice cream is good.

Hi Sandra,
I can only apologise for your unpleasant experience to The Milk Barn,
We are struggling to find a system which works,
We are saving up to put another cabernet of 18 flavours in the side room which will enable the IceCream cabernet to be for dining in only and the cabernet in the next room will be for takeaway only.

Then you will be able to pay for IceCream at either till depending on whether you are having food and ice cream or just Ice Cream.

We wanted to do it before the summer but we couldn't afford to, we know we need to as soon as possible tho as I hate people being unsatisfied.
I can't get a system that pleases everyone, we have tried, its very difficult!

We have had to introduce waiting for a table when we have busy days because we had a few incidents of families arguing over tables and you get two people sitting at a table for six and six people trying to sit at a table for two.
We tried table service but we had too many people leaving without paying.
We are encouraging people to get a table first, then to come to the main till and order and pay, then take the receipt to the collection point for dining in IceCream which means they will get served straight away and can also get to sit and enjoy the icecream.
We are trying to prioritise Ice Cream to tables over takeaway IceCream especially if people have had food,
The till at the IceCream counter has to take money for takeaway IceCream only, as the queue is sometimes so long that people don't want to wait in it to get a coffee and IceCream for sitting in.
Anyway i can only apologise at the moment if you found us badly organised, last Saturday my supervisor went home ill and i wasn't informed therefore we didn't have anyone managing the younger staff, and a few incidents happened which shouldn't have, although i'm not sure when you visited.
We are trying to get through the next few weeks with as few complaints as possible.
Hopefully we will get a second takeaway cabernet before the end of the summer,
We could get a third till at the IceCream collection point but the queue would take longer and we have terrible problems already with the queues congesting the entrance and access to tables etc
Please be patient I promise we will get a system that works and please come back during the week when we are not as busy, this is when the system works perfectly,
we are sorry again, your review really matters to us and I promise we will do everything in our power to improve things
Thanks Suzannah

The ice-cream is great, also like that they have a play are outside for the kids which is great on a warm day, it's not very big but hopefully they can expand it as they grow in popularity. The inside is has always been busy when I have went so I just got the food to take away.
