I went to the restaurant on Saturday with 3 of my friends to celebrate a birthday. The initial service was great and the place felt very welcoming. However as the meal progressed I felt this slipped. We all ordered a main meal however they brought out 5 mains and when we explained 1 dish wasn't ordered they seemed to look at us as if it were our fault. The food did taste great I must add and the restaurant looked amazing, as did the location. Then we came to deserts and a few of us ordered the strawberry cheesecake, we all felt the description on the menu was misleading as when we got our cheesecake it was below average and didn't have any strawberries as the menu described.
Then my main grievance (the reason for the review). We asked for the bill and was only brought a receipt and nothing to place our money on. Our bill came to £91 and we put down £100. The owner (I presume) who wasn't even serving us came and collected the money very abruptly without saying thank you or asking how our meal was. Then we waited and none of the change was brought back so they obviously just took it upon themselves and assumed it was a tip. We of course were going to tip however I found this quite rude. Also when we stood up to leave they just stood talking and didn't even say goodbye.
Also found the waiter gave us pretty basic service, however a table of woman were sitting next to us and they were given the patter from the moment they walked in and he went above and beyond for them.
