The hotel is generally ok but the rooms are very small. It may have just been our room but room 7 was too small for two adults to cope with for any longer than one night. The bar is on an open plan to the foyer and both the bar and the foyer were at full capacity with a wedding and 50th Birthday party ongoing. A similar situation with the dining room. Food was very average but very cheap. Maybe better to raise the price and present a slightly less bland menu. The courses were delivered at a very fast pace giving little time to digest the food before the next course arrived, What budget hotel - Best Western Park Hotel V Premier Inn ? Premier wins - better rooms, bar and food.

I recently went to the Park Hotel for lunch but i was not impressed with one particular staff's attitude, i feel she was very rude and if I'm honest ruined the occasion. It was fairly quiet and the table next to us arrived shortly after we did,i was watching as they arrived and the staff member did not smile or even look like she was interested in the customers at all, she simply told them where to sit and shoved the menus at them but she did tell them what the soup of the day was unlike us who had to ask when taking orders. She slammed our drinks down on the table after taking about ten minutes to get them from the bar. When the soup arrived it stated in the menu that it comes with a crusty roll, did we receive any? no we did not, the table next to us also ordered the soup but they got rolls with theirs. When serving the main meals her attitude was still present pulling faces saying eh excuse me? in the most cheeky tone when she was placing a plate down. If this is how we are going to be treated we wont be back anytime soon! couldn't get out of there fast enough. Horrible service.

Most of our wine glasses were also dirty with lip stick stains and fingerprints

This hotel is part of a chain which includes the Cladhan Hotel and the Beancross restaurant in Grangemouth. A set meal is on offer for £10 at all three establishments throughout the day and evening. Excellent value for money at Beancross where I have found the food to be good and the menu extensive. I have also enjoyed evening meals at the Park Hotel and the restaurant and adjoining lounge are very nice. However, lunch time fare is a real disappointment. Menu is the same as evening but the food is much poorer. Have been there twice recently, and the food tasted as if it had been re-heated. Not just my opinion but that of my companions.

booked in for 2 seperate weeks on buisness and have not been disapointed!
Previous post complains about supplement, however fails to mention that £10 or steak £3.50 supplement is actually the cost of a 3 course meal! each choice has been tasty.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and service in the resteraunt is quick.
will use again!

We were travelling up North and broke out outward leg at Falkirk. We decided to go for the DBB for £100 for the 2 of us. The Dinner consisted of a choice of 4 set meals with the option of Sirloin Steak for an extra £3.50 - I refused to pay it - only to be told that many others had complained too! Scottish Breakfast lived up to its name - 1 rasher of bacon, 1 small sausage, 1 small egg etc..

Room Tip: Not No. 9. Avoid 1 st floor rooms above the function suites.
