Our 2nd stay at The Alma Villa and equally as impressive: In fact, the place feels very much home from home.
Set in a quiet residential area just a few hundred yards from the centre of Falkirk The Villa can comfortable accommodate 4 persons. The large double bedroom upstairs is well appointed and a large double pull out sofa provides ample bed space for 2. There is a spacious bathroom with power shower and loo both upstairs and down.
The kitchen comes well-appointed with all amenities you will need for your stay.
Before booking a hotel check out this place better value for money
Something to bear in mind Edinburgh & Glasgow are within a 30 min £10 return off peak rail journey away – worth considering if you don’t want to be ripped off with City Hotel prices
My family and I just spent a couple of days at Alma Villa, at very short notice, and we had a lovely time there. The apartment was beautifully decorated, and offers a very comfortable stay. We'd thoroughly recommend.
The location of this villa is great with parking outside but the train station is nearby too.. We stayed here to travel into Edinburgh for a rugby match which was so easy to do using the Park & Ride tram system into Murrayfield.
As for the apartment, it really was great and had everything you needed plus a bit more - such as dishwasher & Nespresso machine. The hosts greeted us on arrival to offer any assistance needed, directions etc. The villa was spotlessly clean with real attention and care given to details. We had a great weekend staying here and would certainly stay again. Oh, and Saracens won the rugby so it really was a great weekend!
Alma Villas is perfect accommodation in Falkirk. Morrison's is five minutes walk, the town centre and restaurants maybe ten minutes, and it's a few minutes drive from the Falkirk Wheel and the Selkies.
The apartment is to a very high standard with everything two of us needed. We stayed three nights and it was a home from home.
I feel rather privileged to be making the first review of the delightful property in a quite area close to the centre of Falkirk and all amenities
As an alternative to the usual soulless Premier Inns & Best Westerns etc we decided to book this property as we needed couple of nights stay for 3 of us in the Stirlingshire area.
Booking was very straight forward and we were sent a detailed e-mail with all necessary information on the property location directions and household "how-to’s". A comprehensive information pack is also included at the property which provided essential information and list of attractions places to eat and even bus & rail timetables
On arrival we were met by Alan the joint proprietor of the property who welcomed us in and was keen to show us round and settle us in – he is obviously very proud of this accommodation.
Entrance was to the rear through the very well appointed fully equipped modern kitchen consisting of washing machine oven & hob microwave large fridge/freezer & all the pots and pans and utensils you would need. There is also a complementary kitchen convenience pack supplied as well as teas, coffee etc. From the kitchen area there is a downstairs bathroom including shower which works as an en suite for any 3rd or 4th persons sleeping on the ground level.
Just off the kitchen is a living are with a large L shaped double sofa bed which comes with stored bedding & pillows. My daughter said she slept like a log.
Moving upstairs we were presented with a large double bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed & plenty of wardrobe cupboard and storage space. Upstairs also had a specious bathroom with a large cubicle power shower, toilet, sink & and heated tower rail.
Outside there is car parking space at the front and a decked garden area at the rear with patio furniture
Central heated throughout the whole property is well laid out offering plenty of space and meticulously designed to the highest standard which provides such a better alternative to the bed & breakfast and main stream hotels.
It is also benefits for being ideally located between Edinburgh & Glasgow and the many attractions such as the Kelpies & Helix Country Park, Falkirk Wheel, Antonine Roman Wall and could also offer as perfect a stay over between the South and the Scottish Highlands
I would not hesitate returning and recommending to family & friends – it felt home from home
