Description: No expense has been spared on Edinburghs Living Room restaurant, one of a clutch of popular style bars lining George Street. The dcor has been described as "Manhattan loft with a colonial twist, a pretty fair description of the chic, upbeat, welcoming atmosphere at The Living Room. Theres a lot of stylish wood, substantial brown leather armchairs, potted plants and sophisticated lighting. A slick entrance bar, brought alive most evenings by one of a superb roster of resident jazz pianist performing on a white baby grand, leads to a cavernous dining space where the balance between comfort and style is reflected in The Living Room's modern European menu. It ranges from snacks, salads and roasts (Sundays only) to comfort food classics and more ambitious pasta, grill and seafood dishes. Edinburgh diners love the international wine list and the sexy cocktails and absolutely everyone praises the service to the skies.

If you are looking for great food in Edinburgh, with a very good variety & great atmosphere, the Living Room is the place to go.
The wine list was quite nice, but we weren't impressed by the cocktails.
One of the best sticky toffees ever.

The Living Room has a great, busy, friendly atmosphere. It's location is easy to get to, staff are firendly and food is excellent. Prices are a little above some alternatives, but it is worth paying for.

Went to The Living Room twice with friends while staying in Edinbugh. Food excellent both times. The first time we hadn't booked so we were seated in an over spill area at the right of the bar it was a sunday night a pianist playing.Great atmosphere lovely food and fab, quick service. Quiet noisey but we like that.
The second night was a Saturday night in the restaurant, again great comfort food, good service and comfortable surroundings. Good cocktails will def go again.

Had a meal for two at the Living Room on Saturday night. First time to visit. Was initially a bit worried about the hour and a half limit they put on your table but although we took up the whole of that time we didn't feel rushed at all.
Staff were really friendly. Nice choice of wine. Food was excellent. All at a reasonable price and a great atmosphere.
Can't wait to go again!

The Living Room has a smart bar area where you can get nice cocktails. The restaurant does great food and it's always hot.

The booths are great for friends but they do sometimes try to cram too many people into them. Also some of the plates are big so you have trouble fitting it all on the table! I'd say if there's more than 4 of you, definitely ask for a table when you book. Sometimes if there's 4 of you and you order side dishes the booth tables are a bit cramped.

The menu changes now and then but they usually do some good 'comfort food' choices in amongst some fancier stuff. A good place to try if you're on George Street.
