Went to the Military Tattoo from a cruise ship. Went as an excursion because I was concerned about getting a taxi afterwards but I don't think it would have been a problem because once you left the Royal Mile it wasn't that crowded. The event was great! Because of the venue in the Castle Esplanade you felt like you were one of the king's subject visiting the castle and being entertained. All the bands were good but the bagpipes and dancers were very good. The light show on the castle during the performances really added to the spectacle. I had side seating and it was fine. I don't think there are any bad seats. Highly recommend!

Put this on your must tick list ,what a city what an experience. Take one of the many tours available well worth it , tickets are pricey but hey you get what you pay for , when the pipers come out the castle !!! Wow it makes the hair on your neck stand up. Access to the city straight from the airport by tram , great , we stayed at premier inn and had a room at the back over looking the fourth road bridge and beyond lovely. Tick from us something for all the family you gotta go.
