“Charming apartment in perfect location”

This apartment is right on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It was wonderful to be able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We very much enjoyed looking out the front window where the view changed throughout the day. We would love to visit here again.

“Ideal location, comfortable flat”
Reviewed March 21, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

This was perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh for our family of five - an ideal location not far from the station, Holyrood, the Royal Mile, and well-placed for walking everywhere. The owners could not have been more helpful and considerate, and although they couldn't be there in person on arrival talked us through the process of getting the key from the key-safe, unlocking the door and where to find everything in the flat.
The flat is small but five of us were very comfortable. It was well equipped with just the right things you need - crockery, cups, mugs, pots, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, tv and wifi, and so on, with plenty of storage space. There is comprehensive information about the flat and the wider area in a file. It's in the Old Town, so the streets are narrow and steep with lots of little pedestrian side alleys connecting the main streets, and down one of these there's a tesco 5 minutes' walk away. Follow the main road uphill and you reach the castle; go downhill and the Scottish Parliament is less than 5 minutes away, along with Arthur's Seat and a brilliant exhibit called Dynamic Earth, which our hosts were kind enough to alert us to. Explore the area and you will find a host of independent cafes and eateries nearby - although half the time we cooked in the flat.
The wee balcony looks out on Adam Smith's Edinburgh house, and we were surprised that a short (but steep) walk in that direction look us up to the Observatory and one end of Princes Street in no time at all.
Edinburgh is a great city to explore on foot, and with its central location this flat allowed us to make the most of the city. For our needs it was absolutely perfect, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, however as it is up some stairs it would not suit mobility impaired people.

“Cosy place with great location”

Craig and Rosie were very kind and thought of everything. They were very flexible about our arrival time and made sure we knew where to find the key to the apartment.
The apartment was very cosy and nicely decorated. It had absolutely everything we needed and everything was in great condition!
The location was very nice, just a 10 to 15 minute walk from Waverly Station. It also had great pubs and shops nearby.

In short: would absolutely recommend the flat to anyone who needs a place to stay in the centre of the city.

“Perfect stay for Hogmany.”

Stayed for three nights over Hogmany with my partner and parents and couldn't fault it. The apartment is super cute with lovely furnishing and decor, the photo's don't do it justice really. Spotlessly clean and everything we could possibly want. The location is also perfect withing walking distance of the main attractions and yet quiet enough to escape the crowds. Would definitely rebook with such lovely hosts and in a lovely and cosy apartment.

We (family of six) had 6 amazing nights in this cozy apartment! Craig and Rosie had predicted everything and provided us with everything we might possibly need. The apartment was in a lovely location, with a great view and balcony, in the city center and near all tourist attractions. Convenient and pretty, this appartment was more than we expected. Thank you Craig and Rosie!

“Fantastic stay!”

We had an amazing time at the this Canongate apartment. Everything was very clean and the decor was stylish and modern with a Scottish touch. The beds were really comfortable and there were plenty of towels and all the utilities you would expect. The central location was great as we could walk everywhere. We ate at "Whiski" which is a five minute walk from the apartment and it was wonderful food and service. We also tried the "Witchery" which I would not recommend as the food was mediocre, bland and very overpriced for what it was. Otherwise we enjoyed a couple of curry takeaways from "Mother India"- very good food. The Royal Edinburgh ticket was well worth it- it includes 48 hours unlimited rides on the sightseeing buses, the Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Yacht Britannia- all lots of fun. The real Mary King Close and Rosslyn Chapel were well worth the visit. All in all a fantastic stay in beautiful accommodation in a vibrant and exciting city- we will be back! Thanks Craig and Rosie- you are wonderful landlords and we are so glad we chose your flat!

“comfortable, central location with great views!”

This is an excellent value place to stay in a central, historic location. There are great views both front and rear of the appartment, overlooking salsibury craigs and carlton hill... both look spectacular in the autumn. Craig and Rosie take great care to provide guests with a well equiped and comfortable stay.

There are good, local places to eat and easy to walk to most of Edinburghs main attractions from here. We thought southern Cross cafe was excellent for breakfasts.

There are only a couple of minor issues: There is traffic/street noise which was really only an issue for sleep on Friday night when particularly noisy - bedrooms face street and windows single glazed. The front door handle is a bit tricky, particularly if you are left handed!

I definately plan to stay here again.

Many thanks Craig and Rosie!
