“Lovely”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

We dropped in here desperate for a good cup of tea and a coffee and it was just right. The atmosphere was typical of many places in Edinburgh, a wee bit old, a wee bit shabby and just a touch of modern chic. The staff is young, friendly and attentive. My husband ordered a scone and it came cut in half on two plates with double jam and cream - "just in case we wanted to share" the waitress said to me with a wink. We didn't want to share but I did appreciate the thought.
I would go here again, maybe even for a meal- they also have lots of veggie and other options on the menu and would definitely recommend it.

“Same Florentines, diff atmosphere ”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

This was a re- visit from probably 20 years ago when it was the Florentin.
I have mixed feelings about the venue now. I didn't like the 2 'walls' that hid the staff from the customers.
Service not particularly friendly.
Probably wouldn't return, even though the Florentines were still good.

“Cosy, nice atmosphere”

Called in here for a coffee and a bacon sandwich and both were just the job. It's a small, friendly place with attentive staff and makes a nice change from the chain outlets that proliferate the High Street these days

“Great find!”
Reviewed December 11, 2013 via mobile

We visited this cafe for lunch whilst walking along the Royal Mile. Tucked just down the side, looks small yet inviting.

The menu had some nice lunch choices and we went for a quiche and panini, with mulled wine and a cranberry. Quick service and beautiful home made food.

Staff pleasant and altogether a lovely lunch. Not too expensive either considering it's location. Glad to have found it!
