We chose this restaurant from a Guardian on-line list of recommended places to eat in Edinburgh. It was a good choice - relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and very tasty food. We all had different dishes so we sampled a good range of the menu and all the dishes were excellent.

We went for lunch having read a review. A great choice. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are attentive and friendly and the level of service was excellent. The actual building is full of character with vaulted ceilings and it has a lovely cosy feel. Reallly glad we found it - will definietly be back.

Was recommended this restaurant by a colleague and what a great find! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, the atmosphere is cosy but friendly, every dish on the menu tempting and beautifully prepared and cooked. The only downside was the wine we chose was not cold enough but if that is all we can find to complain about is it really a complaint! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back when next in Edinburgh.

So glad we have been recommended this place, apart from taxi driver not having a clue where it was (but thankfully, was only a little walk from where he left us), everything else was just lovely.

The menu is a little limited and quite heavy on seafood but we didn't mind - Orkney scallops were lovely and so was lobster. Lots of flavours mixing, but they worked.

My main, halibut, must have been the biggest serving of fish I have ever seen... but being so lovely, I had no trouble finishing it!!

Desserts again, not too many options on offer, but the cheese board was again enormous.

Last, but by all means far from the least, the atmosphere is just lovely. Candles and dining room being split into smaller rooms... just lovely. Edinburgh at its best!!

You could easily miss this place, just a door of the street, you mount the stairs to a hidden jewel or restaurant. They serve fantastic food, prepared with great skill and a delicate touch, the flavours are sublime.

Set in wonderful surroundings with candle lit tables, we started with home made bread's, great starters pigeon and for me fois gras with figs, followed by venison, and my partner had partridge. Then the best pannacotta I have ever tasted.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we go back every year for our anniversary!
