Small bistro offering limited but interesting dishes. Evening menu 2 courses £25 or 3 for £30. Quality food very tasty and well presented. Did not try any drinks as I thought they were on the pricy side.

High quality dishes, a modern twist on Scottish classics: haggis bonbons and cranachan excellent. Baked salmon good but veg a little too al dente!

I had a table booked for lunch and was disappointed that the door was still locked when I arrived! But waiting staff very frirendly and efficient.

What an absolute gem,the ambience was welcoming and calming, it was so difficult to choose from the menu as we wanted to try everything, it was a busy evening but staff were always attentive yet never intrusive. The food was delicious, the price of the menu does not justify the quality of the food and the presentation. Thoroughly recommended.

We were visiting Edinburgh for the weekend, and found this lovely little place on Trip Advisor.
It's really easy to find, just walk down the royal mile away from the castle and take a left.
The evening menu consisted of 5 choices for each course, with 2 courses for £25 or 3 for £30. Each option sounded amazing, and was a difficult choice. For starters, I had the Aubergine and goats cheese tart, and my friend had the haggis bon bons. Both were delicious but they only served 2 Bon bons, whereas I think 3 would have been better.
For mains I had a pheasant casserole, which came beautifully served and tasted wonderful, and my friend had chicken breast with sautéed potatoes and black pudding.
For dessert we shared a sticky toffee pudding and a shortbread and marscarpone stack, although the marscarpone seemed more like whipped cream.
The waiter was extremely attentive and service was quick.
Definitely recommend a visit here, a real hidden gem off the beaten track.
