Fantastic night here. Lovely atmodphere and decor. Service was so attentive and friendly but not too much or pushy. Lovely food and even asked about what kind of dishes I might like as I had forgotten glasses. Well worth the value and would be happy to go again soon.

Britannia spice is pricey, but worth every penny. Husbands favourite is the Tandoori lamb chop starter!

Having been given a voucher as a gift, we went along to Brittania Spice in Leith, Edinburgh. The first time we booked, we had to cancel at the last minute, but the staff were very pleasant on the phone and said it was absolutely fine. A few days later, we arrived at the lovely restaurant, which is all kitted out in a nautical theme (it's just round the corner from royal yacht), including the very smart waiters, who wore white jackets. The food took a wee bit longer to come than we would have liked, but this may have been because it was all being freshly prepared for us. The vegetable pakora was so good, I began to wish I had ordered a bumper sized one as a main course too, but when the curries arrived we were not disappointed. We had thought that as it was Festival time, it would be very busy and we would be encouraged to "eat and run", but that was not the case at all. I would highly recommend this place, which was a little oasis of calm in the middle of the wonderful mayhem and most importantly, great food.

We had visited this restaurant before and decided to take some friends for a 60th Birthday. The food and wine were exceptional and the staff very knowledgeable about the food they were serving and went into great detail to explain what each course consisted of. It really does match the billing and we had a superb experience. The venue nautical them like a Royal Yacht is well presented and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly with a mixed Asian team delivering high standard service. The food is a treat to the eye as well as the palate and the background music creates a fine ambience.

We will certainly be back again.

First time to Edinburgh and thought the Britannia restaurant would be nice place to go for dinner as handy our hotel.
What a mistake. Popadoms were great, ordered our main meal. 1.5 hrs later still no food.
Everyone else getting their meals, when we finally got our food to find rare steak stewed, Crispy chicken boiled and the manager was rude and obnoxious. Told us he took our order and that was what we had. We replied he had not taken our order. He argued with us and told us to pay for wine and leave. We did this and strongly recommend you do not dine at this so called award winning restaurant. What awards have they won is the question????
Manager very rude and threatened one of our party.
