“Excellent base for visiting Edinburgh”
Reviewed June 4, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was a very comfortable, clean and contemporary apartment with all the necessary requirements for a long weekend in beautiful Edinburgh. Very close to all the main attractions and lots of good places to eat and drink nearby.

We rented this flat for our Christmas visit to Edinburgh. It was a nice place to relax and a good size for our family of four. The location is incredible and Paul was very easy to work with. It was worth every penny!

“Well-appointed flat in excellent location and condition”
Reviewed July 27, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Steps to Edinburgh Castle and fantastic restaurants. You can't beat the location. Easy to follow instructions for getting key and good response time to any questions. The flat retains character (stone work is stunning) but has all the modern amenities you want. I can't say enough good about the well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms! You will get some noise in the front rooms which can be lessened by closing the shutters. The back bedroom is much quieter and very comfortable. Be prepared to walk up an uneven stone staircase to get to the flat. But once inside--wow! There was even breakfast and snacks left for us so we didn't have to worry about going to the market right away. Definitely a place I would book again.

“Incredible apartment on the Royal Mile”

Our final stop on our holiday tour of Scotland brought us to Edinburgh. Traveling with friends, we opted for an apartment for our stay. We could not have picked a better spot. Right on the Royal Mile, this apartment is spacious, comfortable, and a perfect sized kitchen for doing a bit of cooking if you choose to do so. when I first saw the pictures of this apartment I have to admit I was a bit skeptical -- but if anything, the pictures don't do the apartment justice.

The owners, by the way, are VERY responsive. From our first inquiry to our visit they answered every question. When we had a minor problem they were out to take care of it immediately.

If I were to make one critical comment, the wifi internet service was spotty throughout the stay, and not particularly fast. So, if you will need to work while during your stay, there may be some limitations there. Also, you need to be able to navagate stairs to get into the apartment -- it's Old Town after all, so if that is a problem, this apartment would not be the best fit. Also, if you've never been to Edinburgh and experienced the Royal Mile on a Friday or Saturday night, well, keep in mind there are a lot of pubs, and young adults (and a few of us older adults as well) enjoy them. It can get a bit louder. Most of the time the apartment is pretty quiet, but a bit of street noise will seep through.

If you are looking for a place in the center of the Old Town action, this is the place to stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

“Prime Location. Superb Amenities. 5 stars!”

The condo on James Court was ABSOLUTELY amazing. There were 6 of us traveling from the USA to Edinburgh. 2 adults with 2 children (ages 12 & 7) and 2 "grandparents". When we get back to Scotland, we will certainly stay here again. The 2 bedrooms were spacious, the 2 bathrooms beautifully fitted with modern amenities, and the little kitchenette was just perfect for our use. The pull out couch in the family room area was great for the kids - all 6 of us were very comfortable. We will tell everyone we know if they ever need a place to stay in Edinburgh, that the condo on James Court is the one to stay in!! The location was superb and the condo itself, just perfect! If you literally want to walk out your door and be 30 seconds from the Edinburgh Castle, this is your place! There were many restaurants, pubs, and shopping just outside your door - yet still very peaceful and quiet at night.

“A Wonderful Place to Stay”

What a perfect apartment. The location couldn't be better, on the Royal Mile a mere block or two away from Edinburgh Castle and very close to the museums, pubs and cafes. The apartment itself is exactly as presented; the large living room is nicely furnished and has a warm, cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating for four or more adults. There are also good light-blocking shutters throughout (important for 4:30 a.m. sunrises) and comfortable beds. The bathrooms deserve special mention. The en suite bathroom in the main bedroom is truly luxurious and even the small second bath is top of the line--we loved the heated floor. There is no closet in the apartment, which is not unusual in old buildings with character like this, but the owner has provided a portable rack for hanging clothes which was all we needed. Despite an eight-hour time difference, Paul responded to our emails within hours and was a true professional to deal with. We wouldn't hesitate to go back here or to recommend it to friends. I can't imagine there is a better choice.
