This was our second stay, and the hotel offers great value. It may seem far from the centre of Edinburgh, but with a rail station on the doorstep, a journey time of 10 minutes to the city centre and ample free parking on-site, it is actually more convenient than many central hotels and certainly cheaper. The entire hotel operation is of very good quality, and the services offered are comprehensive, including free internet in the lobby. Comfortable rooms, well soundproofed, offer a good night's sleep too.

Very good service on arrival and throughout my stay. Unfortunately the room I was given left more to be desired. Complaints would be: chipped enamel in bath, a used toilet on arrival and a large hole behind door filled with expanding foam!! Would not wish to stay again at the prices being charged, and indeed, when in Edinburgh next week, will be staying at Premier Inn.

It was the first time I had stayed at the hotel.

I decided to upgrade to an executive (larger) room (paying an extra £25) on the 5th floor and whilst it was more spacious - I could help thinking about how grubby / dirty sofa was that welcomed me as I walked in the room

That set the scene really .. not what you expect from a 4 star hotel

I only stayed the one night, could not be bothered to explore and I dined in the restaurant, food was fine as was the beer

The Novotel Hotel is part of a chain. It is simple and clean. The hotel lobby offers free internet service. The full breakfast was adequate. It is located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. It was convenient by coach to Edinburgh Castle and tourist destinations in the city. The room over looked a parking lot, not a scenic view.

I arrived at 9pm for a business meeting next day. The hotel was very busy and I was put into a disabled room without being asked. The main issue was I am quite at tall and all the equipment was very low. There was also an annoying flashing alarm button which flashed all night. Other than that the bed was comfortable and room functional. Breakfast was overpriced for what was offered and was much less inviting than other Novotels I have stayed at. For example only sliced bread, no baguette or soda bread. The staff were pleasant but ineffective.

Room Tip: Unless you need disabled facilities (in which case they are good) don't accept a disabled room!

I like to use this hotel when I am in Edinburgh because it is well located just off the motorway and only 100 yards from the train station so easy access into the centre of Edinburgh. The hotel itself is very clean service is always second to none and the food is excellent and the its always good to have facilities in a hotel to relax after a busy day in Edinburgh.

Bit of a confusion getting to the hotel if you driving. Very nice newish hotel. Directly across from the KFC and Krispy Creme outlet (yummm). Check-in was pleasant and efficient if a bit slow. Our room keys were a problem so we had to go down to reception twice to fix. Rooms were good size, modern. Bathrooms were great. Very clean and neat. No hotel info book in the room or room service menus so we had to call reception to find out everything.Free parking. Didnt get to use the pool but looked amazing.
Breakfast was good and restaurant was very nice. Limited selection but sufficient. Service was excellent.
Located 2mins walk to train station which is a 10min trip into the center of Edinburgh town. Hotel in a bit of an office park/industrial area so no restaurants/eateries nearby. Sort of an outlet mall type place closeby but we didnt have time to look around.
