“Comfortable & well located”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

I stayed for one week here from the 5th November. The hotel is sited out of town, but not far.
There are regular trains into Edinburgh from the Edinburgh Park train station, just moments away. The train journey cost £2.90 return and took just 10 minutes, meaning that you could easily go into Edinburgh for the day or for dinner without massive inconvenience.

The hotel staff are extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Check in was a breeze and they made me aware of the facilities of the hotel. My room, on the third floor was very spacious with views towards Edinburgh. I could actually see the castle from there.
The room offered a large bed, two seater couch, bedside tables plus an ingenious desk which allowed the desk top to swing out to create a table or sorts. There was a wall mounted flat screen television with a range of satellite channels and radio, plus mini bar (this was expensive- £1.30 for a Mars bar), tea and coffee making facilities with tea, coffee and hot chocolate (although the hot chocolate wasn't topped up throughout my stay- wonder if you just get one sachet for the stay??) Ample wardrobe space, iron and spare pillows. The bathroom offered an enormous shower, lots of mirrors, storage space and complimentary toiletries.

The restaurant offered a wide variety of meals- I opted for the house burger which was delicious and good value. The restaurant staff were very friendly too.
I had room serviced breakfast each morning- fresh fruit salads, prunes, yoghurt and on one morning porridge. All brought up with a smile and freshly prepared.
I found it odd however that they would include a cruet set and tomato sauce and mayonnaise on the tray set up- a strange addition for fruit and yoghurt?

One negative point was the overwhelming stench of chlorine in the reception area. It was so strong, and not nice when you're sat down eating in the restaurant!

Room Tip: 308- View of the castle

Me and my fiance went to this hotel for three nights for her 21st birthday and we found this hotel excellent value as it is very reasonable on price and it has excellent facilities. The pool is very quiet, private and relaxing and the sauna is perfect. The service in the hotel is amazing everyone from room service to housekeeping you could not fault. The hotel is quite far from the city centre but it is only a two second walk to the train station and a five minute train ride and you are in the centre of edingburgh. I could not fault one part of this hotel and i will be returning in the near future.

Room Tip: the deluxe room has a large very comfortable queen size bed.

Excellent accommodation, friendly and helpful staff and good value evening dinner in the restaurant. Whole place very clean and modern with great facilities. Staff on reception were particularly helpful on arrival as we were in a rush to get to a rugby game!

We were traveling through Scotland by train and needed a quiet place to stay for a few days while visiting Edinburgh. The location was nice being located out of city center directly next to the rail station, we were able to walk to the station from the hotel no need for a taxi or car. It was a plus to have a hotel that has a swimming pool it was a good distraction for my son to go for a swim.

A predictably modern hotel which is comfortable enough for the price. If you use the postcode via your GPS to locate the hotel, you are taken via a road which is blocked by a barrier requiring a pass card or code which local workers presumably have. You need to reroute via the City Bypass and you'll spot the hotel from it. A friendly welcome awaits, tho' the aroma of chlorine from the swimming pool does pervade the whole ground floor since there appear to be no doors to block the fitness area off from the rest of the hotel. Possibly a bit remote from the City depending on your requirements, though located right next to Park station.

Room Tip: No noise issues noted by room location in hotel

New, modern and good value. You can jump on train to Edinburgh rather than drive. Rooms nice and Tesco's is just over the road if you don't have breakfast included. If you want to stay on the outskirts of Edinburgh you could do worse.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for good views.
