Three of us stayed in a three bedroomed apartment just round the corner from the course location we were attending. It was convenient for that, for the Commonwealth Pool, for various good restaurants in the vicinity and a 15-20 minute walk into town.

On the whole the apartment was functional and excellent value. The beds are a bit lumpy (you could feel the springs and some were squeaky) and the walls & rooms were fairly spartan but adequate for our needs. The one downside was that there's only one loo and the shower was pretty hopeless (either scaldingly hot or freezing and not much in the way of pressure). But don't let that put you off, nor the noise from the street (drunks fighting was a regular occurrence late at night and bin lorries congregating in the early hours) - that's to be expected in a busy thriving area of the city. It was clean and roomy and the staff were helpful. I'd happily stay there again.

We were given a free upgrade to a double room apartment prior to the visit. Arrived at the destination to find an excellently equipped apartment with all the amenities you could need for a break away from home. Everywhere was clean and tidy and all of the things provided were of good quality from the washing up liquid to the bedding. Gary came to check us in properly and he was extremely friendly and happy to help us with any questions we had about the city. There was also a detailed pack about things to do and where to eat in the room. Had no issues all week, would definitely use the apartments again, fantastic value for money and far more convenient than a hotel room.

Room Tip: If you want a good view of the surrounding area then a ground floor is fine out of the bedroom as it...

We have stayed in some very small hotel rooms and compact apartments on previous family trips to Edinburgh. This was a delight, bags of room, the sitting room in flat 4 was vast, the location was excellent and it was very good value. Highly recommended.

Fabulous service, spacious apartment, great location.
Would definitely book again.
Small tip nothing to do with the apartment, but all the local shops including Sainsbury's stop serving alcohol at 10pm. We went out for supplies at 10.05pm and were surprised by this.
Really great 'Moules & Frites' pub on the corner which serves wide range of food at reasonable prices with fab atmosphere. Had the best veggie meal I've ever had anywhere, there.

Room Tip: Top floor apt 3 very spacious.

We booked through laterooms and got an absolute bargain. Everything in the apartment was great. Lots of little pubs, bars and cafe's about. A few convenience stores too. A nice walk through the meadows into the centre of Edinburgh.

Our only small difficulty was trying to find where on the street the apartment was when we arrived in the car and parking. The street outside has a bus lane where you can't park in the morning or afternoon. We eventually found the car park that is recommended but it was after opening hours and felt a little dodgy leaving the car there but it all worked out fine.

Highly recommend The Southern for drinks, dinner and breakfast!

Thank you to all the Destination Edinburgh Team for making our Rugby Weekend such a success. 7 of us stayed at one of the basement Appartments on Friday & Saturday Night whilst up for the Scotland v England game. The accommodation was clean and tidy with one room being ensuite and others sharing a bathroom/shower and toilet. The kitchenette/living room was well stocked with tea & coffee and kitchen utensils/mugs/plates. There was also access to a nice patio area at the rear of the appartment.
The location was ideal with only a 10 minute taxi ride into the City Centre or to Murrayfield Stadium. It is also right next door to the 'Revere' Pub which is well worth a visit.
Would definately stop here again.

My family stayed here and my husband and I joined them for a night. It worked out really well, very central and comfortable too. The staff were very helpful with getting taxi's and other info too. Thanks!
