Stayed at Aaron Lodge Guest House in Edinburgh last week , we can`t recommend this guest house highly enough. It is a 4 star accommodation, more like a 5 star., Ted & Dot can be justifably proud of their business, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, attention to detail was unsurpassed. Everything the guests could want for is already there, with welcoming hosts always ready to advise ,& assist you in anyway possible & to boot, a briiiant breakfast, & evening meals.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh, the room we had (6) was of a very high standard, large comfortable bed, plush furnishings, large bathroom with walk in shower, even the complementary soaps etc were leading brands! The hotel is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is all you would expect from a 4* hotel and is self service.
There is adequate parking on site and you don't need your car to go into Edinburgh as a bus stops every 10 minutes outside the hotel. Stirling is only 30 miles away and is easily reached by car, ask Ted for his tour of the area ( Falkirk wheel, Stirling, Wallace memorial, etc) you won't be dissapointed.
We would just like to thank Ted and Dot for a wonderful stay and we will be back again.

A planned trip with my wife started out badly with her in the Royal Infirmary for emergency surgery. As we had only planned to spend 2 nights in another Guest House I found myself without anywhere to stay & stopped at Arron Lodge to see if there were any vacancies. Explaining my situation Ted & Dot they put me at ease immediately & found me a room & assured me that I would be taken care of. My room was "First Class" & the food was beyond anything I had expected.

We didn't get the chance to see the festival this year but will be back in 2010 & don't plan on staying anywhere else.

Thanks Ted & Dot.

We stayed at Aaron Lodge the night before my operation at the nearby Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The minute we arrived Ted was very welcoming, I was immediately put at ease, which is exactly what I wanted, to be able to relax as much as possible. Our room was warm, spacious, comfortable, spotless, very good value and I have absolutely no faults whatsoever. We had a very relaxing evening followed by a peacrful sleep: just what the doctor ordered! I would recommend Aaron Lodge to everyone! We will definitely be staying with Ted & Dot again the next time we are in Edinburgh. Jen & Kenny Macleod, Inverness

From the moment we left our taxi Ted was welcoming us. He and his wife Dot are very charming people experienced and knowledgeable in the hotel business. We were a party of eight with four rooms and everyone was shown personally how everything in their rooms operated. Rooms are decorated to a high standard and kept exceptionally clean. All of our party commented on the comfortable beds and the walk in showers, making it a home from home. The hotel is only ten minutes by bus from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town so it is ideally situated for trips shopping, sightseeing or the festival with an all day ticket costing £3. Nothing is too much trouble for Ted and Dot and as we had an early flight on our last day they provided us with an early breakfast to send us on our way. It all adds up to a very pleasant stay and we would certainly go back and we shall recommend Aaron Lodge to our friends and family.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Dot, one of the owners, we were made to feel extremely welcome. We later met Ted her husband who again was very friendly. We got shown to our room which was finished to an extremely high standard with a large walk in power shower, a plasma tv on the wall, a kingsize bed, a safe and plenty of storage for clothes. We then got shown to the conservatory where breakfast would be served (which was fantastic) and also the honesty bar (self service bar) which was great if you fancied a drink before or after you had been out. There is also a private car park and the bus stop is literally outside the door which was very convenient with plenty of buses running every 10 minutes into the centre of Edinburgh.

We would have no hesitation in recommending family or friends to stay at Aaron Lodge as the accomodation, service and staff were exceptional and we look forward to being able to return! We find it extremely hard to believe that anybody (previous review) could possibly find fault with this guest house or its owners and would urge anybody considering staying there to ignore the previous review. (We can't all be wrong!)
