The hotel is close to a bus stop to get into town. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. The bed was quite firm but comfortable enough. Our room had an open shower which was a problem for me as I tend to take a little longer in the shower than my husband. The entire bathroom was flooded. The odd thing about this place was there was no check-in, we pulled into the parking lot and Ted ran out shook our hands and took us to the room and ran away. Breakfast was typical for Scottish/English and pretty good. Our biggest problem was they said they had WiFi but effectively didn't. Our room was maybe 50 feet from the hub but we couldn't get a signal. The booklet about the hotel in the room said they had a restaurant and offered dinner but this was not the case. Oddly for a B & B the owners seemed to want to interact with guests as little as humanly possible - or maybe it was just us! LOL! We wouldn't choose Aaron Lodge again.

Room Tip: Oops. No pool here.

Hi
Your comments are rather odd
We greet all our guests on arrival and room them and help them with their luggage
Once in the room we show them where everything is and what is available
Our breakfast is not typical of other guest houses as it is a buffet serving both hot and cold foods
We do have a restaurant and dinner is served Monday - Friday as you can see from other reviews
We are always friendly and on hand for all our guests as you can also see from other reviewers
If you had problems with the WiFi and asked us we would have helped and we are always available
As for the shower maybe it was because you where in it for a long time that it flooded
Is this sarcastic comment to do with the pool!! as we are a Guest House why or how would we have a swimming pool!!
You commented "maybe it was you" I think you could be correct

Good clean rooms and lovely bathroom, but if you're on holiday don't expect a lie in. At the weekend breakfast is cleared away by 9 am and earlier on weekdays. Fine if you are a lark or working but not if you had a busy week and the plane was delayed the night before. Good bus route into Edinburgh.

Room Tip: Back room was quieter, thank you to other trip advisor who suggested this.

From the moment we checked in, we were well looked after and felt very welcome. Standard of room was excellent. The service from Ted and Dot was superb, breakfast was fab too and everywhere so clean.
Ted even gave us a run down to collect our car in the morning when we asked if he could book us a taxi. Wouldn't get this service from a hotel chain for sure ! Would definitely recommend.

Accommodation, food and staff were great! Lovely spacious rooms and bathrooms. Buffet breakfast leaves you wanting absolutely nothing. Ted & Dot made so much effort! The special touch inside is clearly visible. We'll definitely visit again!! - The South African family of 5

My dad and I had an unexpected stay at Aaron Lodge when my Mum was admitted to the hospital near by. Dot and Ted couldnot have been kinder or more helpful and manage that rare task of being friendly and supportive without being intrusive. I was very grateful for all the help they gave my Dad and the trouble they took to meet his needs arising from his disability.

The breakfasts are lovely, the rooms superb, the cleanliness faultless. the evening meals were very good.

I highly recommend a stay for anyone coming to Edinburgh. there is a bus stop outside with a quick cheap ride (bus no 33, links from the airport bus on Princes St) into the centre of town plus parking on site.

This is a wonderful B&B that is actually more of a boutique hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Extremely comfortable and well-appointed room. Breakfast was also fantastic. With a bus stop just outside the B&B, it was extremely convenient to visit all the sites in the city. I think perhaps our room had a handicapped bathroom as the shower was flush with the floor...which was great except that water would cover the entire floor. That might need addressed in some way. Regardless, this was a great stay and is highly recommended.

Stayed for 3 nights. An ideal location for Royal Infirmary (on a medical course) but within easy access to Edinburgh centre by bus. Large clean ensuite room. Friendly hosts. Excellent value for money. Happy to recommend to friends and will visit again.
