We got picked on time, off to Stirling Castle. Our tour guide was Angela she very informed on local Scottish history and was witty....We got to Stirling Castle and had 1 1/2 hours to look around it, the Stirling Castle guide was good and FREE !! Went through the Trossachs beautiful scenery and arrived at Loch Lomand for late pub lunch, a hour and quarter later we went to the Whiskey distillery for walk around there and a wee dram of whisky...
Once again thank you Angela ..... :- )

The subject of my review actually summarises the entire experience. The tour Guide, Matt, was one of the best I have ever met. He had a thorough understanding of not only Scotland's geography but also the socio-political. He was well travvelled and knew the intricacies of different countries as well. He was witty, charming and always with a bag dull of answers. The Bus- a minivan actually ( mercedes) was very comfortable. Although we were travelling with my 3.5year old son, Matt ensured he was properly taken care of and was quite considerate. I would totally recommend this trip- The Lochness and the Highlands only and only with the Heart of Scotland tours company on their wee red bus!

I was reluctant to do a highlands trip in November, thinking the day would be too short and that the weather would be too bad to enjoy the nature. Luckily, my friend convinced me to take Tour #2.

The bus was comfortable and the drive was very scenic - I wouldn't have minded just looking out of the window even longer. That said, there was a good balance between looking out of the window on the bus and exploring the destinations by foot. We had a very friendly guide, Collin, who was great at explaining everything and was happy to answer questions or make small detours if needed (granted, there were only five of us on that day). Our tour was somewhat shortened as Fraser the Cow had been taken in for the winter, but we got to see some other hairy coos nonetheless, and we were thus able to spend more time at Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond National Park and Glengoyne Whiskey Distillery.

One piece of information I would've appreciated having in advance is the price of Stirling Castle (£14.50) and the whiskey tour (£7 entry with one tasting, £9 for two tastings). Also, the restaurant at Loch Lomond is a bit of a tourist trap, at least price-wise, and at the time it was a bit too rainy to grab some sandwiches in the shop. I know that Heart of Scotland can't do anything about the actual prices, and they did say there would be an extra charge, but it would have been nice to have more details on how much the actual cost of the trip was.

Hi there, thanks for your review and I'm glad to hear you had an excellent day, despite the lovely November weather!

We make a point of clearly advertising admission prices on our website and in our brochure so there are no nasty surprises for our customers. There is always a free alternative to a paying attraction as well.

Thanks for taking the time to give us a 4 star review
