We loved our long weekend staying here. The location was excellent and the flat was well equipped and cosy for the two of us. The bed was nice and comfy, which is always a great plus to me - got to have a comfy bed when staying away! The owner was very helpful. We would definitely come back to stay here again - what better recommendation could you want? :-)
We stayed for a fortnight in August - 1 week of the festival/fringe, and the subsequent week. Ideally situated for both. Right in the middle of everything, yet quiet. The flat was basic, but had all we needed.
Quite a hill on the alleyway to the flat. (Edinburgh old town is very hilly!)
Best stocked supermarket in the locality was Lidl (on South Bridge).
"Royal ticket" gives you 48 hours on the 3 hop on/off sightseeing buses, plus 6 months to visit the castle/palace/yacht. A good buy.
Tickets for the fringe had a noticeable booking fee online and at the fringe office. NO booking fee if bought at the venues - but only the larger venues will sell their tickets. Most events can be booked once you arrive.
Edinburgh is still busy after the fringe is finished - though the streets are less crowded. It is best to visit popular tourist attractions earlier in the day.
National Trust venues in Edinburgh are free to members of the English NT.
Tattoo was well worth going to.
We had a really good holiday!
This Edinburgh is the perfect holiday rental. It is very close to Waverly Station for easy walking with luggage to and from the trains. It is located in a little close right off ow the Royal Mile, so it is the perfect location for sightseeing Old Town. It is very close to a hop on hop off bus stop and just a short walk to Highlands tour bus pick up points. The flat itself is very clean, with all of the modern conveniences and everything you need for your stay. It is in a very quiet location - even though you are just steps off of the Royal Mile. If I had to mention any negatives, it would be that the walk up the hill from the train station and the walk up and down the close to the last is quite steep, so it could be a difficult walk for someone unsteady of their feet - especially if you are hauling luggage. Other than that, I couldn't fault this rental in any way. Thank you, Wendy, for a wonderful experience in Edinburgh!
Great location, cosy comfortable apartment. Everything you need for a break in Edinburgh. Will definitely book this apartment again.
Great place to visit Edinburgh, in the heart of the city : everything is within walking distance.
The flat is really nice and well furnished, we definitely recommend the place (especially for two, it's a little bit small for four).
