The rooms in this lodge were adequate without being luxurious. There is a bus stop right at the front door with regular rotation to Waverly Bridge and City Centre. The evening meals were fantastic and very realistic value for money. There is a good local brew selection of beers and international beers also available. It is basically a pub with upstairs rooms. We were very well satisfied with this value for money site which afforded us a better than expected stay. We had two rooms and both were away form the road so it was a peaceful and comfortable stay.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on Friday 17 August 2012 and Saturday 18 August 2012. Check in was efficient and quick. Was allocated room 214 which was at far end of building from stairs. This was not a problem and particularly as this appeared to be one of the larger rooms so was worth the walk. Some rooms are a bit on the small side but adequate for a short stay.Room was located at front of the building so overlooked a very busy road. However, double glazing reduces road noise considerably. The carvery is good value for money at £5.95p. Carvery does get very busy and is obviously popular with the locals. You cannot book a table but they operate a waiting list and we only had to wait 15 minutes on both nights. Worth the wait. The staff at this hotel are very helpful. For those who like a drink the driink prices are very reasonable. Car park can get busy so would advise that once you have a space you leave your car and use the excellent bus service. Bus numbers 12 and 31 take you into the centre of Edinburgh and are every 10 minutes. Journey takes about 20 minutes. Day ticket allowing unlimited travel only costs £3.50 and is excellent value. Had an excellent stay and did not hear any of the other resident complaining. Good value for money.

Room Tip: Double glazing does reduce road noise and we did not find it a problem but rooms at the the back wil...

My daughter and I travelled to the UK over Christmas and New Year 2011/2012. We spent 5 nights at the Innkeepers and found the staff to be the friendliest and most helpful of our entire trip. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. A hint though, parking can be a problem as they only have a small carpark at the back which is used by local shoppers.

Booked this late on the afternoon we were stopping there. Very close to the zoo (shame we didn't go). Free car parking at the back. Reception is in the Toby Carvery and it was very busy so we found it difficult to hear all of what the bloke said to us. He was a happy chappie (not!). Anyway the room was on the first floor and although small was perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom lovely and clean. Breakfast was included and was all you can eat continental basis. You could upgrade to a cooked brekkie if you wanted. The staff in hte morning were lovely and cheerful and nothing was too much bother. I would definitely stop again.

We stayed here as it is convenient for the Airport (£10 in a taxi at 04:00am). The rooms are all on the first floor and run the full length of the building. Our room was one from the end and it was not easy negotiating the stairs, fire doors and more up and down steps on the way to the room with two cases. The room was small but had everything needed. The kettle still had water in it, which I don,t like and the cups could have done with a good clean. On the plus side the B & B has a large car park, a bus stop just outside and on the ground floor a Toby Carvery. The check in was in the bar of the Toby Carvery and once checked in you are on your own although the lady was very pleasant. In the morning I was concious of the fact that negotiating the Fire Doors, creaping along the long corridor which had a creaky floor was inevitably waking up all but the living dead. For this I appologise.

Room Tip: I don't think there is much difference in any of the rooms. Pot luck

okay, if your looking for luxury this isnt going to suit, but it you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is clean and comfortable then I recommend you stay at the innkeepers Lodge. Its ideal for the city centre, as you can leave your car in the car park at the rear and hop on a bus right outside the front door saving you a fortune in parking charges. Perhaps also one day you will be able to hop on a tram. It also has the toby carvery attached where you can have a traditional carvery meal. Breakfast too is ideal with a selection of cereals, croissants and toast to choose from. The rooms themselves can be very compact, but as you will likely only be sleeping there what does that matter.
