Good value for a family of four! Nice and clean room with a small kitchenette. Our housts was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was great with a lot to choose between (but dont eat haggis even if Mark tries to convince you ;-)). We walked to city center, its a little to long. Dont miss to go to Leith with a lot of restaurants to visit.

I was recommend Pillars House by a work colleague, for a weekend trip with my partner. The house was easy to find as excellent details had been sent well in advance by e-mail, the buidling is very well presented; and quirky. Leith is a lovely area and although it's a little outside of Edinburgh centre, the transport links are superb and it was great to be sleeping somewhere a little less hectic as the city is bustling both day and night.

Mark from the outset was extremely welcoming, and provided excellent service through out; helping with any questions or aspects of our trip that we needed guiidance with. I enjoyed a large cooked scottish breakfast each day which I'm still missing now.

I would recommend Pillars House to anybody who wants to actually experience some geniune scottish hospitality and not just stay at some generic chain hotel with no soul, our trip was great and really fun, it wouldn't of been that if we hadn't of stayed at pillars house, i'll definately be staying there again.

Meand my partner was moved to this hotel as our original hotel over booked us on new years eve!!

We was very worried but there was no need to be!

-Very secure, very warm, very very clean all en-suite rooms.
-Safe deposit box in rooms.
-Beautiful back smoking area that leads to a large park!
-A short bus ride from edinburgh city centre (we walked it in 15 minute but lots of bus routes)

Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: Book it! There are alot worse hotels in edinburgh!!

Although not the most spacious this b&b was more than welcoming and for me perfectly placed, really well priced with some nice touches. The building is old and could do with a little up dating but the breakfast was superb and I had all I could require. Will definately be using again!

Pillars House is a great little B&B. From checkin to check out was a pleasure. Mark whit his gift of the gob had us laughing and enjoying his knowledge of Scottish history and customs was a pleasure. Mark is an excelent cook and breakfast was a very serious treat. About 50m walk to the next bus stop that takes you right to Princess Street. A number of good pubs and resturants are within an easy walking distance.

The room was clean, modern and gave us a warm welcome feeling. I have suggested Pillars House to friends and family and will continue to do so.
