“Lovely cocktails and great service!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

Had some lovely cocktails here on a quiet tuesday evening. The bar tenders were very attentive and personalised our experience by making specific cocktails for us. Thank you very much for a relaxed enjoyable evening. (Special thanks to the young ambitious guy, good luck with the mixology!)

We decided to stay over in Edinburgh after a long days Christmas shopping, Tigerlily on George street is a fantastic boutique hotel serving great food and even scrum ire cocktails.

The hotel staff are exceptionally professional from chamber staff to floor management all equally will to help with any issues.

We booked 2 rooms, a suite and a mini suite both were of the highest standard with flat screen TV and top notch music systems. We took advantage of the on site restaurant and the food was delicious well cooked and well presented, again the staff were impeccable.

We had a very early start 0530 the next morning and the night staff prepared a continental style breakfast for us to take away. Just another example of the lengths the staff go to ensure your stay is a memorable one.

Tigerlily is definitely a gem and amongst the top hotels in Edinburgh, a must visit for accommodation, food and cocktails.

Room Tip: Check with the hotel for late deals, they can usually match online prices.

From the moment we walked through the door to the beautiful interior of the bar and restaurant and the warm friendly welcome from reception staff we felt truly special. Rick the concierge then showed us to our room with a very warm pleasant and informative tour of our room and clear instructions on everything from the lights to the iron. We then had a signature cocktail in the bar which was the nicest we've ever tastest(that's a lot). Dinner was equally as beautiful with the restaurant being atmospheric and buzzy with great service throughout the evening. We then retired to our room where we found it to be turned down :) Great bed, great shower, and amazing breakfast!!!

Took friends here for a birthday treat. We were using a voucher and were a bit worried it could be a bit second rate. We had the chocolate fondue with a cocktail each. It was AMAZING, beautifully presented and all freshly made....even the choux pastry. The service was spot on and when I'd booked I'd explained it was for a special birthday the staff had reserved a table in it's own wee section. It was the perfect end to the day!!!

We stayed at Tigerlily with a voucher deal for dinner, cocktails, bed and breakfast and what a deal it was! I was slightly worried that it had a reputation for being pretentious but we actually didn't find this at all. I was also worried about being treated as "second class" as we had a voucher (which can happen a lot) but again we didn't find this at all.

The concierge Richard was very helpful and friendly and showed us to our room. The room was fantastic. Super comfortable bed, a TV at the end of it which you can swivel round either way, different mood lighting, an ipod and docking station fully loaded with a huge selection of music and even ghd's! The room was also a good size as well and the bathroom was modern and large. There was a slight problem with the lighting in our room and this was fixed by a maintenance man within minutes - great service!!

The dinner was lovely - good quality food prepared with love and attention. The only niggle I had was that I don't really like eating dinner in a noisy bar and it's not something I would have done if we didn't have a voucher (but that's just my preference). Our waiter was very helpful and attentive too. You must try the extensive cocktail menu (We definitely had far far too many, and they are not cheap!! But definitely a treat) - and be sure to go early to get a seat as it gets very busy. Even the bar staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were completely ran off their feet.

We thought we were lucky being at the back of the hotel, therefore avoiding any potential party goer noise from George Street - and we were... Until 7am when huge lorries turned up in the lane we were overlooking making an absolute RACKET loading and unloading what looked like beer caskets for at least 90 minutes. They were also shouting in conversation really really loudly. Not great after a very late night with copius amounts of alcohol!! I'm not sure if this is a regular occurence or not but be warned about that!

Breakfast was served to your room for no extra charge which is fantastic! Eggs benedict and french toast with berries. Perfect! I wouldn't hesitate to go back here. It was such a fantastic deal.

Room Tip: The back may be good for less noise at night - but beware of early morning noisy deliveries!!!

Hotel could do with a makeover. This could be due to the volume of people passing through the doors. Seating was badly stained. For a boutique hotel it could have had better service for the room such as turndown etc. Also someone had set the alarm for 0515!! However on a positive note staff, food and service excellent.

I spend 3 nights a week on hotels on business travel, and I know what I like. Booked Tigerlily for a Christmas "Do", and loved everything about it.
Beautiful large rooms, well appointed with an iPod and rain shower. Friendly and attentive staff and great service.
View from the bedroom is somewhat industrial, but you don;t go to George Street in Edinburgh to look out the window, you go for the lively nightlife and there's plenty of that in Tigerlily!
