I stayed at Victoria Park for two nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The hotel is easy to find and having off street parking is also a bonus. The staff were very welcoming and throughout my stay very attentive. The service was nothing short of excellent.
The hallway and reception area was looking a tiny bit tired but it is obviously a working progress as the bedroom and breakfast room were in very good order. Having said this there is some stunning artwork on the walls by artists selling their work and i must admit one picture did catch my eye and was very tempted.
The room i had was large, as was the bed which was very comfortable. The en-suite had a large bath, no shower but i was given the choice when i first arrived of a room with a shower or one with a bath. This i thought was an excellent touch as they could have just put me where they wanted.
The breakfast was adequate, plenty tea and coffee, limited juices and cereal to help youself to and the cooked breakfast menu was very good. The breakfast themselves are cooked to order so arrive piping hot and in good time.
The hotel is conveniently located for Leith and Edinburgh and it is easy walking distance for both. Leith is a lot closer but i also walked to Edinburgh centre about an hours stroll, via the Botanic Gardens (30min stroll from hotel), and walked back. The car never moved whilst i was there. There is a lovely riverside walk just 5 minutes from the hotel which runs from Leith towards Edinburgh, lovely easy walk to take.
For an evening tipple there is the hotels very reasonably priced public bar, Gosford, at the side of the hotel. Lovely little bar with sky tv. The night i was in it was very quiet. The hotel also has an excellent covered seating area in the garden at the front of the hotel.
All in all a very good small hotel for decent price. Certainly recommend and use it again.

I had my engagement party here on the 21st December 2012, we thought it was such a beautiful venue that we just had to have the wedding here too! So we booked it for our wedding on the 16th November 2013 and it was the best choice we've made. Stunning venue, friendliest staff and so welcoming & polite! The food is cooked to perfection! Recommended to almost everyone looking for a venue for functions!!

Me and my fiancé stayed here using a voucher code we got as a present for a two night stay B&B and dinner one night. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted at the door, and checked in. I'm not sure if there was many people in the hotel that night, as they changed our room booking once they saw how tall my fiancé was! We had booked ahead for dinner that night, but arriving very hungry the staff were very friendly and allowed us to have dinner straight away. The food was lovely, and the woman who served us even gave us a wee taster of haggis as we had never tried it before!

The room we had was lovely I thought, very modern and window looking out into the street and park opposite. The bathroom was okay, however our shower door was hanging on by its last thread, and the shower floor could have been cleaner. But as we weren't in the hotel that much I didn't mind too much and so didn't mention to the receptionist etc.

When we came in and out of the hotel, we were always greeted with smiles, and the staff that checked us out was extremely friendly. He talked to us about our stay and what we did and said to come back with a discount etc, and also asked us to review on here, which I always do anyway!

The one major thing about our stay was that I could not sleep at all due to the guest next to us snoring, which could be heard through the wall at an alarming volume, but what can you do! Lol

Overall, I would definitely come back here, as its a lovely small hotel with character, and the location is perfect I think; just off a bus route that brings you straight into Edinburgh centre.

I would recommend this for anyone!

We held our wedding reception at Victoria Park Hotel recently and have had wonderful comments from our guests about the night. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made the whole evening extra special. The extra help they gave in setting up was very much appreciated and the reception room was done beautifully. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed a really wonderful evening. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts are excellent too. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again. Thanks to Craig for all his help in planning the wedding reception and to all the staff for everything they did to make it a really special event.

My sister had her wedding reception here just yesterday, we had exclusive use of the hotel and we all had a fantastic day.

The staff worked incredibly hard to make sure all the preparations were ready and that the day flowed without any stress.

A big thanks to Craig and the team for all of their help with decorations, food, accommodation and for going the extra mile on numerous occasions to make sure we had everything we wanted.

The rooms were lovely and well equipped with all we needed for an overnight stay, lovely and bright, and very comfortable!

The food was gorgeous and there were no delays at all, the breakfast was a great selection and the sausages were amazing! Ive also been asked by my sister to make special mention to the Victoria Park's fish and chips (also known as whale and chips!) The best in Edinburgh by far.

Cannot thank them enough for helping make the day so special and all the extra effort they went to in order to fulfil the many requests we had!

Of you ate looking for a friendly venue with a personal touch and a brilliant team then this is the place. .. Our if you just fancy a nice dinner out then ask for the fish!
