Its best feature has to be location, just behind Edinburgh's Castle, you can walk to the city centre, as well as use different buses to move around. The breakfast was perfect to start your day and rooms were clean, just a place to spend the night after a long day walking all around the city!

I had a great stay! The location is perfect- we could walk to city centre.
I left my camera there and Talo mailed it back to Canada for me! What lovely hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone is visiting Edinburgh. You will be well taken care of :)

This guesthouse was well suited for our needs during our Edinburgh visit as it is very conveniently situated close to the city centre and attractions. Although clean, the decorations were somewhat tacky and the bathrooms require a professional finish. Breakfasts were small but adequate. Some members of staff were really friendly and helpful, however, others came accross quite rude and abrupt, especially during breakfast service. Despite the minor negatives, we would probably stay there again as it was good value for money considering the excellent location of the guesthouse.

For my first time in Edinburgh, this B&B lived up to my expectations. Rooms were clean and a good size. The bathroom in my room was a little bit small but it worked out fine. The hosts were welcoming and very friendly. They offered suggestions on what to see and where to eat. If you like to walk, the trek into town is quite nice, otherwise the bus picks you up a short 2 minute walk down the street. Breakfast was great at Braveheart. Lots of options to choose from and everything was delicious. The only complaint is that the wireless was sometimes very slow and would disconnect frequently. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage, ask for a room on the first floor.

Stayed three nights at the braveheart with a large party. Got to see four of the rooms.. Great location! The day and evening managers were very nice and helpful. Beds were comfortable. I think this place hasn't been updated in a decade and needs a good scrub!

The rooms were small with dust and cobwebs.. Bathrooms had broken tiles & mold in shower.. New bath towels needed.. Shredded and worn out. The toast at breakfast was more like warm bread even after we asked for it well done..

If you are allergic to cats do not stay here!! There was a cat sitting on a chair in the dining room then watched it walk through the kitchen to the garden out the back.

If you smoke there is no outdoor patio furniture to sit on.
