Premier Inn Edinburgh Central (Lauriston Place) Hotel
Ranked #34 of 151 Hotels in Edinburgh

I stayed with my husband at the Premier Inn Lauriston Place unfortunately there is no car park attached to the hotel however there is parking a few hundred yards down the road, it is around £15 for 24 hours but if you show the ticket to reception you are given a reduction. The staff are really friendly and make you feel special when you book in, lovely to see a smiling face when you arrive. We had room 508 it was very quiet except for the seagulls who woke us up at 4-30 each morning, I guess they were just early rises. The room was a odd shape but it seemed to work. We had a problem with one of the bedside lights and reported it to reception we did not wait long for the maintenance man to arrive and sort it out. He was really nice, polite with a big smile, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us before he left. A pat on the back for all the staff, we would certainly stop there again.

We spent three days in Edinburgh, and enjoyed our time at this Inn. The location was very centrally located in Edinburgh, and we were able to walk to every point on our destination with ease from the hotel. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. It was larger than I was expecting for a European hotel; we had a full size bathroom, decent sized beds and we could walk around the room. It was very clean, although at night a bit louder outdoors, probably due to its location to the University.

Overall, I highly reccomend this hotel if you plan to spend time in Edinburgh. The only small complaints I had with the hotel, was we booked a full sized bed, and they gave us a room with two twins (with "latches" to connect them). I'm not sure if this is standard custom or not in the UK, but when we asked the staff why, they said "they overbooked fulls" but wouldn't discount the room. The other issue was that they have no site parking. There is a close public parking garage to the hotel, but it was 15 pounds per day, pretty pricey.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise, I'd reccomend asking for an inward facing room rather than one fa...

We are never disappointed staying at Premier Inns and this was with out hesitation was one to the best. The location was excellent easy reach for everything, the royal mile, the castle, the university, restaurants, pubs etc. The rooms were clean, fresh, simple, comfortable, good air condition and staffs were polite and helpful. Ok the family room had one double bed, plus 2 camp beds (was not very happy with this as two camp beds were not suitable for my 2 sons (5'7" tall) but was ok for 2 nights. The breakfast was good, the food was nice and hot. If we go again to Edinburgh we would defiantly stay here again.

25 of us stayed here for a hen weekend. It was comfortable, central, staff were great, rooms big enough to share, power showers in the bathrooms and breakfast was fantastic! Pretty much all you need for a great weekend. Only minor fault was the weekend we chose was when there was a huge parade for the armed forces and also graduation week in Scotland so we ended up paying £120 per night which is a bit steep for a premier inn, but that was down to us not the hotel. Still worth it though as we were all able to stay in the same place. Bit of advice; the ricshaws are great fun to get around the city but they charge a fortune, upwards of 15 quid! It only costs around a fiver to get to rose st where the pubs are by taxi so save your pennies!

A very simple but clean hotel in a fairly central area (close to the Grassmarket). Staff at reception were lovely & helpful. It was a very warm couple of days but we could open the bedroom window and there was a small fan to move the air around which was great. There's a good shop round the corner but (be warned).. if you're looking at the front of the hotel, the street on your left leads close to the red light district! The street on the right leads to a sainsburys and the grassmarket (again to the right).. it's not a terrible location but non-locals wouldn't know this and may wander into the wrong bar! .. go to the grassmarket for pubs etc.. and then up the hill to the castle & royal mile.. or across the bridges or mound to Princes st..

We recently spent two nights at this Premier Inn location. It was great for walking in to the Old Town area of Edinburgh (Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, Grassmarket, Heriot School, Greyfriars Kirk), was affordably priced, and we were able to borrow the items we needed from the front desk (iron/ironing board; power strip - more on this last one below). We didn't opt for the restaurant's breakfast as there were many options within walking distance.

The bed was pretty firm, the pillows pretty thin. Re: the power strip - there was only one power outlet in the room available to use for recharging things like phones, tablets, etc. Not a big issue, and for the price, we would stay here again. We borrowed a power strip from the front desk and all was well.

Eat at The Hanging Bat! Great beer pub with good food about 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: Traffic on Lauriston Street can be a bit noisy. Try a room farther back on Lauriston Street (the sma...

If you have stayed at any Premier Inn then all you need to know is that this is well located for the tourist areas of Grassmarket, Greyfriars, Victoria St and the Castle.
Also an easy walk to the shopping precinct at Princes/Rose Streets.

All the Premier Inns that we have used are modern, clean and comfortable. They are large and moderately anonymous, with no frill, but there is nothing wrong with that.
They all have some type of family restaurant attached, good solid food, not fine dining.

The only small issue that I have is that there is no fridge in the room. Sometimes it would be nice to keep some food cold, or chill a drink.
