Went on the recommendation of a friend on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly quiet at the time and we were warmly welcomed by one of the staff and shown to a table. It's counter service and you order and pay at the same time. This little trick ensures you're likely to stay when the wait for food exceeds what you would normally tolerate. The décor is a bit flat: it could be a really nice space, exploiting some period features, but they've opted for cheap wooden seating that isn't too comfortable when you're waiting more than half an hour for your burger. The blue cheese burger was good and their own label Pale Ale was very palatable. A chicken burger and sweet potato fries were also well received. Overall it was ok: words like "awesome" and "fabulous" didn't make an appearance at my table. I do think with a little more imagination and faster service they could up their game and give customers a more rewarding experience.
