“Excellent Tour”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Went on this tour today it was excellent (don't pay attention to the few negative reviews from local opposition fans). Tour guide very informative and the tour had a nice relaxed feel to it, plenty of time to look at the exhibits, take photos and enjoy the experience. The main stand is old but steeped in tradition and history and this is highlighted when the guide describes all the famous players and managers that have played for Hearts or been in the away dressing room. Well worth a visit if you are interested in football.

“Urgently needing upgrades - Won't be back”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Having read a few reviews on here I thought I would see a match at Tynecastle. Overall I was really disappointed with the experience. The stadium has 3 taller stands and an old stand. I decided to sit in the Old Stand and it was like back in 25 years. The lack of modern facilities, the wooden seats and serious lack of leg room made me have back pain the next day. I am 6 foot and not sure how anyone taller could even come close to sitting in those seats. The other issue was that the stand had pillars in the way which restricted the view of the action.

The game itself was typical Scottish Football but the home crowd were very quiet throughout and often abusive while the away end provided better vocal support.

The best part of the stadium is being close to the pitch if your in one of the 3 more modern stands but the stand behind the goal looked like it seriously needed upgrades as the seats were dirty / lost their colour or pink - this confused me as the team play in maroon ?

During the week I visited Hearts rivals Hibernian FC stadium and I found that experience to be much better - excellent stadium and modern facilities and better club shop. I went into the Hearts shop but didn't spend anything as they were low on stock and didn't have what I wanted for a friend.

In the end I was interested to see another Scottish stadium but wouldn't go back - especially as the view and quality on the pitch was poor.

6 pounds I paid for this sham! The tour guide smelled like one of the nearby breweries. The roof of the decrepit Main Stand leaked and also it had wooden flooring, seemed like a death trap to me. Apparently Hearts won the First World War was the message portrayed to us during the shambolic 20 minutes of a tour. I think the stadium predates said war by around 20 years by the looks of it.

“Close to the pitch but that's the best it gets”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

I have been to Tynecastle a few times and while I do enjoy how close the fans are to the pitch I am not too keen on the actual structure of the stadium. The style is dated, to say the least and pillars obstruct the view to the pitch. There isn't a huge amount of atmosphere and overall, for the money you spend to get in, the experience isn't worthwhile.

“Disappointing and dilapidated”

Asbestos ridden and falling down. Would make a great landfill site with very little entertainment on show.

Expect this "attraction" to be closing down very shortly
