“Great, well-located flat in Edinburgh”

Patrick provided clear instructions for key pick-up and other information on the apartment, including historical tidbits. We were quite close to food markets and were able to cook our own meals. Quite close to both Princes Street and the Royal Mile, if you like to walk - it was about a mile or so to the Castle.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property

Liked best: The location, the layout of the apartment, the kitchen, and the Cumberland Bar just a few yards away
Liked least: The shower was a bit awkward to use, but not too bad.

“Perfect stay in beautiful Edinburgh!”

Patrick was very caring from the beginning on. When booked online, he supplied us with some useful information about the historic background of the apartment and some interesting facts about the location. Being in the apartment was just excellent. It is lovely equipped and was very welcoming from the very beginning. Bottle of champaign waiting for us in the fridge...could it be any better? :-) The apartment is very clean and comfy to stay in for a long weekend. The living room is brilliant with the artificial fireplace, the vinyl and DVD collection make the stay unforgettable. In combination with this beautiful city, Edinburgh, I would always recommend Patrick as a host, and the apartment for further bookings. Communication with Patrick was brilliant as well, he even called us back on our first evening just to have a quick chat about the famous writer who had lived and worked just opposite our Cumberland Street apartment. All in all we loved our stay in Edinburgh, though it was too short of course, and we will definitely come back one day. Go and book with Patrick, Cumberland Street is a fantastic and very central address to stay when you want to explore Edinburgh.

“Great apartment in a fantastic location”
Reviewed December 5, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed here in October half term. The apartment is clean, cosy and well equipped with thoughtful extras from the owner. The owner supplied us with lots of interesting information about the house, location and surrounding area. It is ideally situated in walking distance of the historic delights of Edinburgh and the shops for the teenagers!
The DVD and vinyl record collection was a great success, my husband has since resurrected his vinyl collection from the loft due to teenage demands!
I would certainly stay here again and would recommend to all.

“A home from home”
Reviewed December 3, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

A great little apartment in a very handy central location. Nice and clean with a good shower. Thoughtful touches by the owner made us feel very welcome on our arrival and of course we couldn't resist playing a few records from his "eclectic" collection. Hairdryers in the rooms were another useful inclusion. It couldn't be a better location if you fancy a nearby drink as there is a real ale pub at the end of the street! For a city centre apartment in Edinburgh the street is quiet although being on the first floor means you can hear anyone going past. The original wooden shutters help although there weren't any in our bedroom. Personally I'm a very light sleeper so always carry earplugs so I'd recommend that if you're the same. Compared to a couple of hotel rooms staying here wins hands down on price and gave us so much more freedom to relax and enjoy our break together.

Liked best: Location, wifi, thoughtful owner.
Liked least: I wouldn't expect central heating in a period flat but the electric heaters provided did seem a bit inadequate for the size of the rooms, so in November it did take some time to heat up.

“great!”
Reviewed September 7, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

19 Cumberland is a well equipped bright apartment in a historic part of Edinburgh. It is easy walking distance to the centre of town and to Stockbridge which is an interesting village within the city. Lots of good restaurants in Stockbridge and the centre of town. Walks back from town can provide a chance to visit good Edinburgh galleries.

The comfortable apartment makes a great base for exploring Edinburgh and the landlord could not be more helpful.

This charming 2 bedroom apartment is just perfect for a short break. Very convenient for the rail station. princess street and for a change the stocksbridge area. The Cumberland bar a few short steps away is a fine public house serving excellent food and real ales .The flat itself is very well stocked with all of the basic needs tea coffee etc and all of the necessary appliances including excellent Wi-Fi.
