Stayed at Motel One for 2 nights, first off if you're not in a car it's perfect. However the nearest parking is probably half a mile away and costs £19 a night.

The hotel is excellent, very modern and neat. The staff are great!

Whilst the rooms are on the small side, however they are very functional and modern. The shower is a highlight.

The continental was fine, a relief after a week of Scottish cooked breakfasts.

Room Tip: Try a latte at the bar..

Stayed here for two nights, it couldn't be better placed. Close to station, castle, princes street, Royal Mile. Some people have commented on the room size. Yes they arent huge but you're probably not going to spending a huge amount of time in it anyway!! Fantastic shower, really comfy bed. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely stay here next time I visit.

We only had one night here before we headed off on a bus tour and also happened to be in Edinburgh at the time of the Royal Tattoo, so this hotel was in a great location for both. Just a 10 minute walk to the castle on the Royal Mile and 5 minute walk to our pick up for our bus tour. Also just across the road from the Waverley station. The hotel is only a fairly recently renovated building and is very trendy inside. Our room was compact to say the least but adequate for one night. Definitely no frills but comfortable and value for money. Breakfast was good and the WIFI was free.

Think Premier Inn but done German. But with a bar. And central. Stayed here on business for one night, the room was very quiet, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing for £8. Parking is of course a bit tricky it being just at the foot of the royal mile and over the bridge from Princes Street. Had some IT problems on Apple devices. But very good value for money.

On a recent Scotland tour, we needed a hotel to stay for one night before the tour started. I picked Motel One because it was one of the cheapest. I was extremely pleased when we arrived. The hotel is just minutes from Waverley station. No taxi required. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The price did not include breakfast, but a continental brerakfast was available at a reasonable charge. Overall, a good choice.

This is a bargain hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are spartan modern but the beds are comfortable and shower rooms clean. With very good free WIFI and flat screen TVs, this is just what you want to come back to when it's time for sleeping. An easy uphill winding stroll gets you to the Royal Mile or walk across the Waverly Bridge to New Town. Waverly train station is less than a block away as are the Waverly Bridge starting points for the city tour buses.

This hotel offered us a fantastic location upon a recent trip to Edinburgh. Right near the station and in the heart of the city, you can walk most places of note in around half an hour (bar the zoo).

The rooms were very modern and clean, they're not huge or over equipped they simply have the essentials. A tv,kettle, desk, chairs and a very nice walk in shower. Bearing this in mind with the price, don't expect 5* luxuries as some people seem to, the rooms are clearly designed for people coming to visit the city over a weekend. With a location like this you shouldn't be in there much anyway!
This hotel offers a lot for the price you pay, if you're on a trip to Edinburgh I'd seriously reccomend this hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room that isn't facing the road.
