“Excellent budget hotel in good location”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for a few nights whilst working in Edinburgh, and will definitely be staying again.

It's a budget hotel, but they are very clear upfront about what's included (a bed and en-suite) and what you have to pay extra for (everything else including towel) which means if all you are looking for is a bed for the night you can get a really good deal.

The rooms are pretty small, but very well designed. The hotel itself is spotless and the staff are really friendly.

It's straight across the road from Haymarket station, so town is a short walk away. Although Haymarket is a building site, I heard nothing in the room which overlooked it.

In short, affordable, decent accommodation in Edinburgh!

Fast, cheap, clean, quiet, comfy, cool a great value place to stay in the city, if you only need to sleep and shower.
I have stayed a few times and the inner rooms with NO windows are odd but they work, especially if you check in late and leave early.

Room Tip: Dont stay if you want a pool or gym, go for a room with no windows, very quiet.

Stayed at this hotel for Hogmanay 2012 with the boyfriend and I'm so glad we chose this Hotel!
It's gorgeous. Very modernly decorated and sparkling clean.
When we were checking in the receptionist was very very friendly polite and chatty. Made us feel very welcome.
Went up to our room to drop our bags and again, amazing. Very compact but so nicely decorated.
Bed was comfy too which is always a bonus. En-suite was spotless too!
Stayed here for two nights and had a fab nights sleep each night.
The hotel's a fair little walk to the pubs and attractions which wasn't great in the weather we had but it was do able.
Edinburgh is such a beautiful city and Hogmanay is seriously something everyone needs to do at least once! When you do, stay here!!!

An excellent budget hotel. Much cheaper than the other budget hotels in the area. Good location, good bed, good price, good staff and exceptionally clean. Windowless room is small and a bit strange for a few minutes but comfy and spotless. Lounge area was a bit messy with empty cups, breakfast boxes etc but the staff were busy checking in guests at the time! I'd definitely comeback. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and Tune was in a good location to explore. 10 minute walk to Princes Street but only £3.50 for an all day bus ticket and there are many regular buses.

Fantastic budget hotel for a night.... or two in Edinburgh.
This spotless compact hotel is ideally located across from Haymarket train station and within walking distance of Princes Street, or hop on a bus if you don't feel like a walk.
The hotel does sell some basic snack food however just next door is a great little Italian restuarant "La Bruschetta" and for me this was first class.
The staff at the hotel were very helpfull indeed and could not do enough for us and wopuld always help out with a smile.
A late check out can be arranged with the hotel as well as parking ( best to pre book the parking though as there are not too many spaces).
Once again great for a short break and very reasonably priced though if you need to stay longer then maybe a more traditional hotel room would suit better.

Room Tip: I prefer a higher floor to be away from any street or lobby noise, however we were on the first floo...

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 days on last April after stayed in London. For a price that is 1/3 from what we pay for a night stay in tune hotel london, i think we get so much more. The location is very convenient, so close to haymarket station and couple of bus stops. The room somehow bigger than room we got in tune hotel london. The bed is very clean and tidy, and the bathroom also very clean. We had read before that the room sometimes could get noisy from outside activities, but in our room it didn't happen at all, so we had a very good and sound rest. For mya opinion, this is the hotel with best value in UK.

I guess the easiest way to compare this hotel is actually to compare it to a good 'budget' airline. it gives great basic amenities and then a menu of add ons from which you can choose, all at reasonable pricing. Not everyone wants a safe, but it will only add £2 to your bill if you need one. The luggage storage deal for £2 a day also seems incredibly good value when compared to the airport or train left luggage areas. The bed is very comfortable (sitting on it now!) and the bathroom is compact, but spotless with a great shower. Ample power sockets for chargers etc, and good use of space in what is a relatively small area. I can see the western ramparts of Edinburgh Castle from the room, which is a nice bit of culture thrown in for free! Easy links to the centre of Edinburgh by train or bus just outside the hotel. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and access to the residential floors is key card access. This is a budget hotel, but it delivers better value than you will probably pay for your room, and is certainly worth considering for short stops.
